Welcome to Unite, I hope you are enjoying the day so far...\n
We want to share our experience of our move to DVCS\n- talking about why we did it, \n- how we did it and \n- what benefits we got from it.\n\n[Quick slide to make sure people are settled and know what they are about to hear]\n
\n“Atlassian loves the community. We believe that a great community already exists around Atlassian and we want that community to grow even further. \n\nI’d like to celebrate everyone involved and encourage everyone else to get involved.”\n\n\n\n
Community is happening everywhere, its become an important part of our working lives - just as it is already an important part of our lives outside of work.\n
Software developers who are passionate about their work produce better software systems and take a greater responsibility for how their software is perceived by those who use it.\n\nWith a community to support them, a passionate developer can learn quickly the implications of new practices and technologies and understand how they benefit their company.\n\nCommunity involvement keeps nerds discovering, which makes them happy!\n
The community is everyone that is involved with Atlassian in any respect. \n\nThere are lots of aspect to that community.\n\n[This slide is just a quick title to inform people the thread of the next few slides - you can just ask the question]\n\n
Everyone here is out community. You are the most important aspect of the Atlassian community and without you the community does not exist.\n

Whilst most Atlassians are in Sydney or San Francisco, there are many other people around the world and at a company we like to send our people out to the communities for some face-time and get great feedback.\n\nWe have had developers in front of the London community, talking about the challenges they faces, the developer practices that occur and getting great feedback to take back to our offices.\n
Atlassian wanted to give the communities around the world a boost, so have introduced Ambassadors around Europe and Japan\n\n\n
[Serious and crazy pictures of the ambassadors]\n\nWe are a very serious bunch, serious about getting people to have some fun. \n\nWorking in IT can be demanding, challenging, stressful, crazy making and the most engaging industry to be in. Other industries and businesses are no different to IT in this respect. If we can reach out to these people and raise there goals and talk about opportunities to deliver real value whist enjoying every minute of work then are jobs are done.\n\nWe are very serious about reaching out to people \n
