Boston Consulting report
Mobile
If we think about the revolution in the retail industry and how the internet and mobile computing has reshaped out high streets.
40% of all retail shop leases are up for renewal in 2015 – retailers moving out as part of a structural shift on how we shop in the internet.
As Tim Jones, Chairman of the DCBD says “The stats are not encouraging - Boxing Day High Street sales were down up to 20%, whilst there were 147m visits to retail web sites on Xmas Day alone, compared with 110m last year. £500,000 was spent online every minute on Boxing Day. This is a business crisis and needs business leadership comprising something better than King Canute solutions.”
According to OFCOM research (06.07.15) there is record ownsership, around 2/3rds of our population, of smartphones transforming the way we communicate and how we get online.
While smartphones are replacing more of our gadgets, such as alarm clocks and digital cameras, actually using one to make a phone call is not that common, according to mobile network O2.
The average smartphone owner spends more than two hours each day using the device. During that time, smartphone owners spend an average of 25 minutes using their phone to browse the web, 17 minutes on social networking, 13 minutes playing games and 16 minutes listening to music.
Making phone calls with the smartphone was only the fifth most popular use for the gadget, only slightly more time than they spend writing and checking email (11 minutes) and text messaging (10 minutes).
1.6 billion apps on Google Play Store (formally known as Android) and slightly less on the Apple App Store. So how do we decide which ones to use to make you more productive in your day to day work life……
Sleep well and wake up refreshed, forget about undersleeping, insomnia and connected health risks with the most intelligent alarm clock app.
Smart Alarm Clock monitors your sleep cycles and wakes you up at the right time based on the scientifically proven sleep cycles concept. Compatible with both your phone and your tablet!
How does the app work?
During the night we go through several sleep cycles: transition to sleep, light sleep, deep sleep and dream sleep. In each of these stages we behave differently: toss and torn in bed, mutter or stay quiet. The sensors in your device detect all the movements, the app figures out which stage of sleep you are in and wakes you up during the light sleep stage, when your body is naturally prepared for awakening.

With multiple notebooks to help you keep your thoughts tidy, simple to-do lists, a powerful search tool so you can easily find specific notes and the ability to sync between devices it's a must have for anyone who ever jots things down. Which we'd wager is just about everyone.
It goes that little bit further than just being a notebook though, as you can also share your notes and collaborate on projects with others, easily track expenses and attach files, all through an attractive, clutter-free interface

It's an essentail download for any fans of Google Now or anyone who objects to bloat. It also makes finding and launching apps easy, with app suggestions presented at the top of your app drawer
