SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL OVERVIEW The SHS Curriculum, as part of the K to 12 Program, aims to produce graduates who have the following characteristics: • Equipped with 21st century skills (i.e., learning and innovation skills, life and career skills, communication skills, and information media and technology skills); and • Prepared for the future, be it in pursuit of higher education or acquisition of middle-level skills, or geared towards employment or entrepreneurship.
- 5. CAREER ORIENTATION Is a career development instructional guidance program designed to prepare students to have a greater understanding of educational and career opportunities and options to assist them in making meaningful and informed career choices.
- 6. STRAND AND TRACK The learning "strands" in senior high school refer to the different areas of expertise under the program while the career "tracks" refer to the general categories that each different field of study belongs to.

- 13. SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL TRACKS ACADEMIC TRACK You are one of those who have their minds set towards their college education. SPORTS TRACK If you are an athlete and your life is all about sports, then this is the right track for you. This track typically appeals to those who want to venture into the fitness, recreation, and athletics industries. TECHNICAL- VOCATIONAL- LIVELIHOOD TRACK Focus on practical knowledge and job- ready training. ARTS AND DESIGN TRACK This track is for students with a penchant for the arts. You have the choice of immediately going to work after graduating from this track in SHS or proceed to college and take up similar courses.

- 34. SHS TRACK REQUIREMENT WORK IMMERSION refers to the subject of the Senior High School Curriculum, which involves hands-on experience or work simulation in which learners can apply their competencies and acquired knowledge relevant to their track. APPRENTICESHIP Apprenticeship Program is a training and employment program involving a contract between an apprentice and an employer on an approved apprenticeable occupation. CULMINATING ACTIVITY is a project that challenges high school seniors to demonstrate their academic knowledge in an experiential way. CAPSTONE PROJECT is the culmination of all your work in Careers, other subject areas, and your life outside of high school. It should be a showcase of your growth, learning and passions.
