How to Make an Inspiring Image for Social Media in 20 Minutes (without a designer!)

for Social Media in 20 Minutes
(without a designer!)
2. Get Canva
First, sign up for Canva.
You should receive your email
invite within a day or so.
3. Get Prepared
This example is for a quote image, so to get prepared we need to:
1. Choose a quote for the image. I’ll use “Yesterday’s home runs don’t
win today’s games,” spoken by Babe Ruth.
2. Choose a background image. I like to use Creative Commons and
search Google Images:
Creative
Commons
makes sure you
aren’t stealing
anyone else’s
work!
5. Log in to Canva
Set your own dimensions.
403 x 403 pixels is perfect for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Twitter.
6. Here’s the First Page of Our Design
We don’t need to make
any layout changes,
so the first thing to do
is upload our design.
7. Next, Drag The Image into the Canvas
You may have to resize it to get the image where you want it.
8. Now, we’re going to choose a font and font color for our quote.
Canva supplies lots of free images for text, but we’re going to put
our text directly on top of the image.
9. Almost Done
Add in your text, and choose the font and color you like. At this point,
it’s personal preference for how you want it to look.
I used two text boxes, one right-justified and one left-justified. You can
drag the text boxes to place them anywhere on your image.
The entire process takes about 20 minutes start to finish, depending on
how long it takes your creative juices to kick in!
10. Save Your Design for the Web
Click “Link and Publish”:
Click “Image” (this will give the image the highest quality for social
networks):
Your image will download, and you’re ready to share away!
