General Information
• Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Ege University (E.U.F.E.A.S.) was founded on July 3,
1992. The Faculty comprises three departments: Department of Business Administration, Department of
Economics and Department of International Relations.
The undergraduate curriculum had initially been in Turkish. However, the students could take, if they so
wished, English preparatory classes. Since 1995-96 academic year, students are required to demonstrate
proficiency in English, before they can participate in the regular program; otherwise they have to go
through the English Preparatory School. Currently, two third of the undergraduate curriculum is offered in
English.
In the first four semesters, the students take the core courses offered by their departments. Starting with
the fifth semester, the curriculum offers area electives so that the students can specialize in various
departmental sub-fields. In addition, the students can take, as free electives; classes from a broad range of
courses offered by other departments in the university to meet their individual career needs and
interests.
In the Department there are 2 full time professors, 2 associated professors, 8 assistant professors, 1
instructors and 11 research assistants.

courses may demand course works or quizzes.
Educational and Professional Goals
• The emphasis of the undergraduate business program of
our department is to train and educate students to be
business literate people who can adapt increasingly keen
global competition. The curriculum includes basic
courses on business, social sciences as well as courses
related to numerical methods and computer
programming. In addition, the program gives an
opportunity to select one of the three-specialization
areas: Production Management and Marketing,
Accounting and Finance, Management and Organization.
The objective is to prepare the students for professional
life as specialists, or researchers in public and private
sectors. Finally, we believe that this program prepares
our graduates to be ready for the advances in their field
during the 21st century.
