- Aired on Nickelodeon for 3 years, from 2005 to 2008. It lasted for 3 seasons, or “books” as the the show suggests, with 60 episodes in total, each season has 20 episodes. The total runtime to watch all the episods is 23 hours, 38 minutes and 41 secods… I know, I’ve tried.
- Basically, this is a show about a young boy who travels the world with his friends helping everyone they can. Learning about his role and identity as the avatar, fighting enemies the power of the four elements that he posses and learning to control them, Fighting enemies and bringing balance to the world. Being a show on Nickelodeon and a cartoon, it’s easy to assume that this is a kid’s show. And it is but the great thing about this show is that it also introduces and handles mature topics in a way that a younger audience can understand and an older audience can appreciate.
- Like any typical show, it’s about friendship, growing as a person, romance, and fight between Good and Evil. But the great thing about this show is that it goes beyond clichés and actually introduces mature topics and ideas in a way that Younger audiences can understand and older audiences can appreciate.
- The show handles issues such as death, loss, genocide, child abuse, poverty, war, power, mental illness, drugs, and disability and much more.
- Out all the issues that this show addresses there are a few that I think are the most important Evil is not limited to any one nation That the youth, the elderly, women and the disabled have value and importance and are capable Redemption can be for anyone.
