To Whom It May Concern:
I am a 4th year pharmacy student who will be graduating in May. I am seeking a position as a compounding
pharmacist or a manager of a compounding pharmacy. I have focused on compounding and business
management since the end of my first year, as my long term goal has been to own my own compounding
pharmacy. I took compounding rotations throughout school, and was employed at an independent
compounding pharmacy for around 7 months before I left to focus on my last year of school. At the end of
2016, I trained at the Fagron compounding academy to ensure that I learned compounding from a variety of
sources. I have spent the last couple months since I returned honing my compounding skills and doing
independent research to improve my knowledge regarding compounding for different patient populations.
After graduation I plan to spend the next 8-10 years practicing compounding and management skills, before
making the move to Canada to build my own pharmacy practice.
I hope that you give me the opportunity to work for you, and to help you grow your business. I’m optimistic
that we have much to offer each other and that we will both benefit from our time together. My previous
internships have well prepared me to assist you in any area where you may require assistance, and my
independent studies outside of school may also provide a benefit that my peers cannot offer you without
training.
To share my relevant experience:
Academic Training / Compounding Experience:
My academic rotations and work experience included varied se]ings, and have taught me a great deal.
My training has exposed me to multiple approaches to patient education, and I have been able to interact
with providers and patients in a range of ways. Between Menaul Compounding Pharmacy, Pharmacy
Integrative Pharmacy, and my training course at Fagron, I have had ample opportunity to practice
encapsulation, preparation of stock solutions, trituration and suspension, milling of creams using an
ointment mill, use of an unguator, and a variety of other extemporaneous compounding skills.
Customer Service Experience
I worked as a customer service representative at a call center (Sitel) for two different companies (DirecTV
and Choice Hotels) for three years, and have worked in a variety of community pharmacies over the last
4 years. These experiences have taught me how to address customers professionally and respectfully, as
well as how to address customer concerns and manage their frustrations. I am prepared for anything I
may encounter at work, and I have had no problem interacting with customers in the pharmacy se]ing.
I am planning to move after graduation which will of course entail gaining licensure in your state as a
Pharmacist. I have plenty of time to arrange for that however, and I hope that you will not dismiss my resume
outright simply because I am in a different state. I would welcome the opportunity to bring my skills,
experience, and drive to your business. My whole pharmacy career has been geared towards compounding
pharmacy, and I am very excited at the prospect of working with you and what it will bring. I hope to hear
from you soon. Please feel free to contact me at 505.688.9404.
Sincerely,
Gabriel Chavez
