2. Overview
 A Chart recorder is an electromechanical piece of
equipment that documents/records a mechanical or
electrical input signal or trend onto a chart, paper or a
rolled piece of paper.
 Chart Recorders can record numerous inputs using a set of
different color pens and can record findings onto circular
charts or strip charts.
 Application for Chart Recorder include documenting
pressure, humidity, temperature measurement, water,
electrical, industrial, and process parameter to name a
few.
 Chart recorders have become more complex and capable
in recent year in fact many current chart recorders can
record data and download the information to a computer
as well as store and record data in a digital format.

ratio or proportion as the input
signal varies with result being
circular chart.
Strip Chart Recorder
 Strip or Roll of paper that is
passed in liner fashion.
