HOW RANET - ZAMBIA WORKS => Zambia Meteorological Department collects relevant information from stakeholders and prepares for the RANET website. => Information relayed to uplink station at Pretoria, South Africa and Niamey, Niger, where it bounces to the satellite =>World space satellite broadcasts to RANET community radio station =>RANET radio station browses through the contents and selects the desired information for translation into a local language and then broadcasts on FM radio to the community =>RANET radio station also provides a forum of discussion by the community regarding issues affecting their livelihood.

RANET-ZAMBIA PROJECT (DISTRIBUTION OF SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVERS) RANET-Zambia has installed 43 Tongshi Damb-R Satellite receivers in thirteen districts to assist partners access developmental information required to assist the rural communities make informed decisions regarding their day to day activities
11. RANET-ZAMBIA PROJECT (DISTRIBUTION OF MOBILE PHONES) Number of Peasant farmers that use to cell phones send feed back to the RANET-Zambia National Information Centre in Lusaka and the ministry of Agriculture regarding sending of rainfall and disaster-related information.
