Costa Rica has become a popular destination for sustainable hotel developments and tourism due to its political stability, well-educated workforce, and natural attractions. International tourist arrivals have grown significantly in recent years and are projected to reach over 2 million visitors by 2012. Costa Rica offers competitive construction and operating costs for hotels, good infrastructure including airports and roads, and incentives for tourism investments from the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency. The country has a strong and growing tourism cluster centered around attractions like beaches, eco-tourism, golfing and marinas.
