Conceived, orchestrated, promoted, and hosted frequent, high-style, company-branded and widely
acclaimed special events in a range of styles: business networkers, political fundraisers, fashion shows,
charity events, cocktail parties, and high-energy dance parties. Booked world-class venues, including
Emeril's Miami Beach, The Hotel Astor, The Forge, O Asian Grill, Martini Bar, Club Glass, and Club Suite.
Contracted all necessary talent and vendors, including graphic designers, musicians and live-
performance artists, disc jockeys, food & beverage caterers, florists, and photographers. Directed and
oversaw creation, printing, and distribution of event invitations by hand, via U.S. Mail, and through
regular e-mail blasts. Built and maintained an e-mail database of over 8,000 guests. Closely managed
advance party reservations, guest registration, event atmosphere, bar service, and charitable tie-ins and
fundraisers. Personally hosted each event and led a staff of professionally trained hosts, with focus on
charm, warmth, hospitality, guest comfort and safety, and minimization of company’s risk for liability.
In cooperation with community business partners, coordinated the assembly of valuable gift bags for
each guest at every signature event. Maintained a constant four-month waiting list of venues requesting

As server in casual, but fast-paced, “hip, city diner” atmosphere, worked day and night shifts, serving
American cuisine, oversized desserts & ice-cream sodas, and both soft and hard beverages. Responsible

Peasant Restaurant & Bar – Banquet Facility Server 1991-1992
Atlanta/Buckhead, Georgia
As banquet waiter in white-tablecloth environment, set up and broke down rooms for pre-booked events,
constructed stylish, multi-level buffet table displays including hot and cold food, floral arrangements,
candles, and art. Working in concert with other specially chosen servers (competent and mannerly
enough to cater to the needs and wishes of top-level clientele), served well-reviewed continental food
from an upscale kitchen and beverages from a full bar, including the gamut of top-shelf liquors and an
extensive variety of wines. Recited complete menu by memory from chalkboard. Ensured overall guest
happiness. Responsible for problem resolution, collection of payment, and securing of promise to return
from event host.
Prestige Catering – Kosher Catering Server 1991
Atlanta, Georgia
As non-Jewish cater-waiter for a prominent Jewish, kosher catering company, served food and beverage
at bar and bat mitzvahs and weddings, in and outside of synagogue. Learned the meaning of “kosher,”
as it pertains to food separation and restrictions, cleanliness, and hard deadlines such as sundown.
Gained cultural awareness and appreciation.
Proof of the Pudding – Catering Server 1990-1991
Atlanta, Georgia
As cater-waiter, packed and drove catering truck, set up and broke down events in various, remote
locations with unique, geographic and practical limitations. Worked events at The Carter Center and
waited on former President Jimmy Carter. Learned the necessity of detailed advance preparation and the
importance of contingency plans. Developed the ability to alternate easily between back-of-house and
front-of-house behavior.

in the shortest amount of time, while maintaining poised demeanor and good manners. During lunch

As bartender and server in popular, neighborhood bar & grill, learned to pour all classic and trendy
cocktails. Served food from full menu with daily specials requiring verbal description and salesmanship.
Mastered the art of cultivating clientele. Learned how to identify and handle the underaged drinker with
false identification as well as the unruly, overserved drinker.

As manager-in-training for fine-dining restaurant, practiced high-touch table service, expediting of food
orders, wine service, and management of wait staff conduct.

As food & beverage server in atmosphere similar to Applebee’s, served casual American food and
promoted daily drink specials. Responsible for maintaining acceptable food cost. Managed personal
cash bank. Trained new servers in proper food and beverage service, up-selling, section maintenance,
side work, and balancing of personal cash bank. Volunteered for “Checkout” responsibility, the
spreadsheet-balancing of all daily cash and credit card receipts, batching and remission of credit card
