When I finished crafting the slides and the speaker notes, Dr. Sabaal, my customer, was a little sceptical. “Fred”, he said,” This isn’t
how it should look. And what you are asking me to say seems simple. Too simple. I can’t convince people with this!”

Now, Dr Sabaal (like many of us) was not the most eloquent speaker. He spoke a little too fast when he got excited. Sometimes, it
was hard to make out some of his words. He also used a lot of fillers like “You know?” and “You get what I mean?”.
On the big night, he nervously stood before his audience of high net-worth potential clients. Using what I had taught, he talked
about his new marketing system. He told stories and he was animated when he shared. It was as if he was a different man. He was
not perfect. He was better than perfect - he was compelling!
The next day he called me. “Fred, I fumbled at certain points but I did it. And it was incredible.”
“So, what happened?” I asked
“I wasn’t perfect but I was compelling and I got US$18,000 worth of orders!
And if this didn’t happen to me, I wouldn’t have believed it was possible!”
