1. HOW TO PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING IN THE CITY OF POPAYAN Presenters: Nasly Delgado Franklin Navia John Fernández Jairo Terán
2. GLOBAL WARMING IN POPAYAN POPAYÁN IS ONE OF THE CITIES THAT PRODUCES MANY FACTORS WHICH CONTRIBUTETO THIS PROBLEM. AN ORDINARY CITIZEN PRODUCES 0,4 POUNDS OF TRASH DAILY AND A PAYANES PRODUCE S 0,6 POUNDS. EXAMPLES OF INDUSTRIES: ICOBANDAS LICORERA DEL CAUCA EMPAQUES DEL CAUCA
3. FACTORS: THE CARBONIC GAS PRODUCTION BY OLD CARS. THE FELLINGAND BURNING OF TREES AFFECT THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE PURE OXYGEN.
4. POLLUTION SOURCES IN POPAYÁN Pollution occurs when there are some physical, chemical, or biological elements in the environment. there are effects on living things that could endanger the existence of life on the planet.
5. Disposal of solid waste. Domestic solid waste. Plastic materials are very resistant to degradation. Batteries contain mercury, lithium or lead. these are highly toxic metals.
6. Disposal of solid waste. Organic waste. Sewage and other demanding oxygen waste pollute water. Organic waste are biodegradable debris.
7. Chemicals. Fertilizers and pesticides. These pesticides are highly resistant to biological degradation, and very slightly soluble in water.
8. Chemicals. Toxic metals. Lead used in gasoline as antiknock product. Mercury metal is the main marine pollutant. Detergents. Detergent consumption is constantly increasing in the world.
9. Combustion of fossil fuels. Associatedwiththemovement of cars and air trafficpouringintotheatmosphere, mainlynitrogen oxides and lead, causedbyburninggasoline.
10. Global Warming • Climate has always varied; it is dynamic, not stable. In the last century the pace of these changes has been greatly accelerated, and the trend is that this acceleration will be exponential if nothing is done to control it. The consequences are great physical changes such as rising sea levels, massive environmental damage and serious threats to humanity.
11. Greenhouse ½ • In seeking the cause of this acceleration was found that there is a direct link between global warming or climate change and increasing emissions of greenhouse gases caused by human societies, both industrialized and developing countries.
12. Greenhouse 2/2 • The solar radiation of short-wave passes through the atmosphere of any planet and is absorbed, in part, on the ground. Another part of the radiation remains in our atmosphere due to the existing layer of gases like CO2. • The radiation that stays in our atmosphere produces a rise in temperature.
13. What are the consequences of increased concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere? • The average temperature of the earth's surface has increased during the twentieth century by 0.6 º C. In the XXI century is projected global temperature increase of between 1 and 5 º C. • In the XXI century sea level will rise between 9 cm and 88 • Increase and spread of infectious diseases. • The movement of species into colder latitudes and altitudes. Those species that are not able to adapt and can not travel may become extinct. • Increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events.
