Makers (2 or more people): create individual components (eg screens, pages, paper
cuts/shapes, code etc.).
Writer (1): Makes the text realistic and align to the segment (e.g. language)
Asset Collector (2 or more people): Gathers photos, icons, sample content etc.
Interviewer (2 only): Runs the user testing, and is usually not involved in building
prototype but prepares the questions and assumptions to test.
Stitcher (1): Melds components into a seamless, consistent whole. Checks for quality
and ensures all the pieces make sense including why and what is going to be tested and
who/how it's going to come together for testing.

• Agree on each team members role
• Brainstorm what prototype to create and why? What do you need to learn/test?
• Who are they going to test it with? First customer segment and how they are
going to engage them to test it? Feedback capture
• How are they going to test including when/how/where? Test protocol
• How to validate qualitatively (e.g. first 10 people - body language, tone, eye
contact and level of commitment) and verify quantitatively (ie survey, mass test)
Remember! Stitcher needs to own this.

1. A friendly welcome to start the interview
2. A series of general, open-ended context questions about the customer
3. Introduction to the prototype(s)
4. Detailed tasks to get the customer reacting to the prototype
5. A quick debrief to capture the customer’s overarching thoughts and

1. Context questions (e.g. what do for work?, pains of getting tasks done?)
2. Introduce the prototype (e.g, this is prototype certain areas don't work,
design to help us ensure we building stuff that solve your pain)
3. Run through key tasks and nudges (i.e. What do you think of that? What do
you expect? What would you do next? Why? Missing?)
4. Close interview (e.g. thank you, happy to see next version? Anyone else?)
