• This Indo- Chinese cuisine is a tasty combination of Chinese dishes with Indian
spices and techniques with all veggies to make it colourful. This so popular cuisine
is believed to have originated from the Chinese community of Kolkata. These small
Chinese community, based in India's only Chinatown located arounf Tereti Bazar
area of Kolkata.
• Though most of the people of these Chinese community are of Hakka origin but
some popular recipes like manchurian dishes bear little resemblance to traditional
Chinese cuisine
• With the advent of time the recipes has taken the hue and flavour of Indian cooking
style with lots of spices dominant by chilli and fading essence of authentic Chinese
food.
