THE
ART OF
LIVING
LIFE
ntrepreneurs, Employees, and
Studentsliveinacontinuously
stressful life, in today’s highly
competitive era. Entrepre-
neurs want to achieve those
turnoversandprofitnumbers.
Corporate executives want to
complete those targets. Stu-
dents want to get good marks.
Housewives have to continu-

husband and children. At this
timeonequestionarises,isthe
purpose of our life just to
achieve ambitions like profit,
money
, designation, good
scores? Let me give you an ex-
ample of a small event…
One very tense person
came to a very well known
monk. The monk asked him
the reason for coming. The
person said, “I am living a
very troubled life. I am work-
ing very hard. I am working
almost 18 hours a day. I am
constantly engaged with
thoughts of work the whole
day
, just so that I could be su-
perior to my colleagues. But
still, my colleagues are one
step ahead of me even today
.
I can’t achieve my ambition.
My wife and children are of-
fended of me because I don’t
have time to spend with them.
Please show me the path for a
successful and happy life.”
The monk listened to him
very quietly and asked him to
come the next morning at the
bank of the river. Second-day
early morning that person
came to the bank of the river.
Monk was already present
there. Monk took him into the
river and told him to dive into
it. With lots of amazement,
the person did so.
As he drowned his head
into the water suddenly
monk grabbed his head from
the neck and kept it sub-
merged in water. The person
started panicking. He could
not even breathe properly
. As
the person was about to die,
the monk took his head out
of the water. The person was
so angry he started saying
bad words to the monk.
But the monk asked him
humbly “What did you expe-
rience while drowning in the
water?” The person replied,
“I could just think about how
I can save my life” The Monk
smiled and said “God has
given you such a beautiful
life. Only one thing is pre-
decided and yet unknown
and that is, the time of your
death. Then why so many
ambitions and why are you
living a life full of stress?
At that time that person got
true guidance and after that
started living his life happily
.
The ultimate moral is god
gifted this valuable life to us

should appreciate our life

happiness. We should keep
the stress of small problems

PRESENTING A FEW POINTS BELOW
 Workload should be limited
to our office time only. There
is no need to bring work-
stress to home. Time after
office hours are for family and
friends so use it wisely
 Similarly, there is also
no need to bring the stress
of home to the office also.
While being at office you
should keep your focus at
work at a 100 percent. Try to
give your best and you will
surely get success
 Stress and over-ambition
ruin your life. There’s nothing
wrong with being ambitious,
but do every work that you
do with a happy heart. Only
the happiness on your face
can take you towards ulti-
mate success
 Never forget that your
life is of limited time. So
work in such a way that the
society and your friends will
remember you
 Whether you are a student
or a housewife, there is no
need to take unnecessary
stress. Whatever you do, do
it with a cheerful mind. Low
grades don’t matter, what
matters is your intelligence
and ardor, which will help you
in identifying new directions
 Be a person with a simple
heart and always respect oth-
ers. Try this yourself once. In
a very short time, people will
start seeing you as a respect-
ful person. God has given you
only one life, so live it with
full of happiness

United Nations re-
port on World Pop-
ulation Day has
projected India to
overtake China as
the world’s most populous
country by next year. India’s
population stands at 1.39 bil-
lion and that of China 1.44 bil-
lion, making them the world’s
most populous countries.
Some studies have estimated
that the country’s population
will peak at 1.5-1.6 billion be-
tween 2040 and 2048 after
which a rapid decline will en-
sue. However, for the decline
to happen mortality rate has
to remain constant after be-
low fertility rate is achieved.
The projection is to be cel-
ebratedforitshowsimproved
healthcare in the country ex-
tending life spans and re-
duced maternal and child
mortality rates. It also should
give us reason to worry as a
higher population would
mean higher pressure on re-
sources, more food, more jobs
and more dwellings. The de-
mand on affordable health-
care would also go up.
Last year the National
Family Health data said that
India’s Total Fertility Rate
has declined from 2.2 in 2015-
16 to 2.0, or below replace-
ment ratio of 2.1. Replace-
ment level is the level at
which a population replaces
itself. In simpler words, a sin-
gle generation is not produc-
ing enough children to re-
place itself. This does not
imply that the population
will begin to fall immediately
but it should peak sooner
than predicted. A study pub-
lished in Lancet in 2020 pre-
dicted that by 2100 the TFR
would fall to 1.9 and the popu-
lation would come down by
300 million.
India is in a stage where
the population continues to
grow despite falling birth
rates due to the high propor-
tion of young population.
HEADING TOWARDS
A PEAK, SLOWLY
A United Nations report on World Population Day has projected
India to overtake China as the world’s most populous country by
next year. India’s population stands at 1.39 billion and
that of China 1.44 billion, making them the world’s most
populous countries. Some studies have estimated that the
country’s population will peak at 1.5-1.6 billion between
2040 and 2048 after which a rapid decline will ensue

New Delhi: Former In-
dia captain Sunil
Gavaskar has said that
he is strictly against the
idea of Indian cricket-
ers getting rested for
series, especially sen-
iors. Gavaskar’s state-
ments come after the
likes of Rohit Sharma,
Jasprit Bumrah, Virat
Kohli, Hardik Pandya
and Rishabh Pant,
among certain other
high-profile cricketers
were given a break for
India’s ODI series
against West Indies
starting this month.
Gavaskar stated that
asking to be rested
when it comes to be
playing for India is just
not done and if the
cricketers do not skip
the IPL, there is excuse
big enough to not give
international cricket
the same importance.
‘You don’t take rest dur-
ing IPL, then why while
playing for India?”.
New Delhi: Punjab
BJP leader Jagjit Singh
on Monday withdrew
his petition seeking a
CBI probe into the mur-
der of Punjabi singer
Siddhu Moosewala,
saying Punjab Police
were taking care of it.
“We wanted a CBI
probe but Punjab Police
are taking steps so we
don’t want a central
agency probe any long-
er. We are not pressing
for it,” the BJP leader’s
counsel Namit Saxena
told the top court. While
accepting Saxena’s re-
quest to allow him to
withdraw the petition, a
Bench led by Justice
Ajay Rastogi said such
issues shouldn’t be giv-
en political colour. The
petition was according-
ly “dismissed as with-
drawn”.
Moosewala was shot
dead on May 29 by as-
sailants in Punjab’s
Mansa district, a day
after the state govern-
ment curtailed his secu-
rity cover. Punjab Police
alleged that the killing
of the popular singer
seemed to be the result
of an inter-gang rivalry

Goa Cong moves pleas to
disqualify Kamat Lobo
Goa: The Congress on
Monday moved a dis-
qualification petition
against Digambar Ka-
mat and Michael Lobo
citing “anti-party ac-
tivities”, despite the
MLAs claiming that
they were still with the
party and made no at-
tempts to split Goa unit
and merge with the BJP
.
Goa Congress presi-
dent Amit Patkar said
activities duo indulged
in amounted to them
voluntarily giving up
their membership of
the party, as a result of
which the petition has
been moved before the
Speaker’s office.
“We are filing a dis-
qualification petition
against two senior lead-
ers because they have
voluntarily given up
membership of the par-
ty. There is a SC judge-

says that any anti-party
activity amounts to vol-

Earlier in the day,
both Kamat and Lobo,
who AICC Goa desk in-

Rao accused of conspir-
ing and colluding with

Singh: India must be ready to face
upheaval due to expansion of AI
New Delhi (ANI): De-
fence Minister Rajnath
Singh on Monday said
that the country should
exercise restrain and
caution while working
on Artificial Intelli-
gence (AI) mechanism
and use it for the pro-
gress of humanity
. Sin-
gh cautioned that it
should not be like nu-
clear power over which
only a country or a
group of countries have
dominance.
“We have to use AI
for humanity’s pro-
gress and peace. It
should not be like nu-
clear power on which
only a country or a
group of countries
have dominance and
the other countries are
deprived of this tech-
nology,” he underlined
while addressing a
symposium on ‘Artifi-
cial Intelligence in De-
fence’ here. “We have
to ensure the demo-
cratic use of the AI,”
he added.
The defence minis-
ter further said the ar-
rival of technology is
just like the movement
of a clock because once
it moves forward, it is
not possible to walk it
back. “We cannot stop
the progress of artifi-
cial intelligence and
we should not try to
stop its progress. But
we need to be careful
about it,” he said, add-
ing that when a new
technology brings a
huge change, its transi-
tion period is also as
huge and serious.
The defence minister further said the arrival of a technology is just like the

HARISH CHAUDHARY MEETS CM

Jaipur: Questions have been raised regarding the
amendment made in the Other Backward Classes

servicemen come from the OBC category due to which
new recruitments from OBC category in state govern-

reservation of ex-servicemen should be made in all
categories. Only 12.5% reservation should be given to

from a humanitarian
point of view and there
is no politics involved.
He said the decision

extending the benefit to
its employees.
“If I talk about OPS,

“It has been decided
after a lot of thought.
Chhattisgarh has also
announced to imple-

cussions are going
on in other states.
Committees have
been formed at

think the
central government
should come forward
(to re-implement it),” he
said.

G e h l o t
said, “We

point of
view and
there is no

work.”
He said the Centre
should adopt a positive
attitude towards this
scheme in the spirit of
federalism. Meanwhile,
he also expressed con-
cern over the reduction
in the Centre’s share in
centrally sponsored
schemes. Gehlot said
that education and
health will remain the
priority areas of the

he famous
mythological
tale of Devi
Durga vs the
t o r m e n t o r
Mahishasur
goes some-
thing like this. There
was once a vicious
young demon named
Mahishasur who
wanted nothing more
than to become im-
mortal and be the su-
preme power across
earth and heaven. He
prayed relentlessly to
the Gods, and seeing
his dedication, Lord
Bramha appeared
and granted him one
wish. The cunning
demon Mahishasur
asked that he be made
the most powerful
creature on the plan-
et, rendering him in-
vincible by any man
or God! Bramha un-
suspectingly granted
him his wish. Shortly
after, Mahishasur
gained immense
strength and powers
and began to misuse
his superiority by
wreaking havoc
across the earth. He
even dislodged most
Gods from their heav-
enly abodes, leaving
them to scurry to
Bramha for help.
An urgent meeting
between Bramha,
Vishnu and Mahesh
saw them create God-
dess Durga to take on
and vanquish Ma-
hishasur. Many Gods
came together and be-
stowed a slew of pow-
ers and weapons upon
Durga. Shiva gave her
a Trishul, the God of
the Himalayas gave
her a Lion to ride on,
and so forth. Durga
became like a one-per-
son army
, endowed
with multiple special
skills, making her the
only match for Ma-
hishasur. Armed with
all these powers, Dur-
gadescendedfromthe
heavens, and after a
long and arduous ten-
day battle, beheaded
Mahishasur,restoring
peace and order.
It took a woman of
many talents and
powers to triumph
over evil. This story
fromourmythologyis
of particular signifi-
cance simply because
it reminds us as a so-
ciety
, of the boundless
vigourandtenacityof
a woman, provided
she can develop, and
hone her skills. It is
the former aspect of
the aforementioned
statement that is espe-
cially relevant today;
that a woman whose
skills and powers are
developed and nur-
tured, is an unstoppa-
ble force. This is what
we need to
d r a w
a n d
l e a r n
f r o m
Durga’s
story and
apply to soci-
ety
. Not only
does Goddess
Durga serve as an
icon for empowering
women, but her life
also presents many
lessons from which
we can learn, particu-
larly about women in
society today
.
THE POWER OF
TRANSFORMATION
It is well known that
Goddess Durga
transformed herself
into many different
avatars depending
on the need and situ-
ation she was pre-
sented w i t h .
Women mirror this
trait in everyday
life, smoothly tran-
sitioning from wife,
to mother, employee
to sister. This dex-
terity ought to be
treasured, celebrat-
ed and appreciated
much more than it
perhaps is.
HOLISTIC
STRENGTH
Durga also displays
and demonstrates
that she was strong
in Mind and Body.
She wasn’t just a
woman who was a
great physical war-
rior but also an in-
dividual who had
tremendous psycho-
logical resolve. This
again is an enviable
quality that is pre-
sent in all women,
something that
ought to be applaud-
ed and amplified,
and lessons learned
therefrom.
COLLABORATIVE
The reason Durga
was able to over-
come Mahishashur
was that her endeav-
our to conquer him
was the culmination
of a collaborative
enterprise. All the
various Gods who
put their might and
trust in her, helped
her overcome the de-
mon monster. In real
life too, women are
naturally prone to
draw from the peo-
ple around them. If
a woman is sur-
rounded by people
who are positive and
encouraging, there
is virtually no limit
to the heights a
woman can
reach.
FACING FEARS
Durga always stayed
steadfast in purpose.
She too had fears but
she didn’t cower,
choosing instead to
face them, head-on.
She tamed a wild lion
too! Herein is anoth-
er great lesson for
young women and
girls across the coun-
try – to not let fear
determine their ac-
tions but rather push
them to confront and
triumph.
DUALITY
Durga is one of the
best examples of a
single entity em-
bodying ferocity as
well as compassion.
Equal parts de-
stroyer and creator,
Durga’s life and sto-
ry provide invalua-
ble learnings for
women of all ages,
that within them
resides the ability
to be protector and
caregiver.
We celebrate Dur-
ga Puja each year
with much pomp and
pageantry. That is all
well and good. Per-
haps this time, we
should also look a lit-
tle deeper and take a
leaf out of the God-
dess’s life and use it
as inspiration to
bring up the women
of tomorrow!

I THE ART OF LIVING LIFE ntrepreneurs, Employees, and Studentsliveinacontinuously stressful life, in today’s highly competitive era. Entrepre- neurs want to achieve those turnoversandprofitnumbers. Corporate executives want to complete those targets. Stu- dents want to get good marks. Housewives have to continu- ouslyworkfortheambitionof husband and children. At this timeonequestionarises, isthe purpose of our life just to achieve ambitions like profit, money , designation, good scores? Let me give you an ex- ample of a small event… One very tense person came to a very well known monk. The monk asked him the reason for coming. The person said, “I am living a very troubled life. I am work- ing very hard. I am working almost 18 hours a day. I am constantly engaged with thoughts of work the whole day , just so that I could be su- perior to my colleagues. But still, my colleagues are one step ahead of me even today . I can’t achieve my ambition. My wife and children are of- fended of me because I don’t have time to spend with them. Please show me the path for a successful and happy life.” The monk listened to him very quietly and asked him to come the next morning at the bank of the river. Second-day early morning that person came to the bank of the river. Monk was already present there. Monk took him into the river and told him to dive into it. With lots of amazement, the person did so. As he drowned his head into the water suddenly monk grabbed his head from the neck and kept it sub- merged in water. The person started panicking. He could not even breathe properly . As the person was about to die, the monk took his head out of the water. The person was so angry he started saying bad words to the monk. But the monk asked him humbly “What did you expe- rience while drowning in the water?” The person replied, “I could just think about how I can save my life” The Monk smiled and said “God has given you such a beautiful life. Only one thing is pre- decided and yet unknown and that is, the time of your death. Then why so many ambitions and why are you living a life full of stress? At that time that person got true guidance and after that started living his life happily . The ultimate moral is god gifted this valuable life to us only for one time. So, all of us should appreciate our life and enjoy it with maximum happiness. We should keep the stress of small problems aside and should try to live an excellent life. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL E At that time that person got true guidance and after that started living his life happily. The ultimate moral is god gifted this valuable life to us only for one time. So, all of us should appreciate our life and enjoy it with maximum happiness. We should keep the stress of small problems aside and should try to live an excellent life PRESENTING A FEW POINTS BELOW  Workload should be limited to our office time only. There is no need to bring work- stress to home. Time after office hours are for family and friends so use it wisely  Similarly, there is also no need to bring the stress of home to the office also. While being at office you should keep your focus at work at a 100 percent. Try to give your best and you will surely get success  Stress and over-ambition ruin your life. There’s nothing wrong with being ambitious, but do every work that you do with a happy heart. Only the happiness on your face can take you towards ulti- mate success  Never forget that your life is of limited time. So work in such a way that the society and your friends will remember you  Whether you are a student or a housewife, there is no need to take unnecessary stress. Whatever you do, do it with a cheerful mind. Low grades don’t matter, what matters is your intelligence and ardor, which will help you in identifying new directions  Be a person with a simple heart and always respect oth- ers. Try this yourself once. In a very short time, people will start seeing you as a respect- ful person. India’s population stands at 1.39 bil- lion and that of China 1.44 bil- lion, making them the world’s most populous countries. Some studies have estimated that the country’s population will peak at 1.5-1.6 billion be- tween 2040 and 2048 after which a rapid decline will en- sue. However, for the decline to happen mortality rate has to remain constant after be- low fertility rate is achieved. The projection is to be cel- ebratedforitshowsimproved healthcare in the country ex- tending life spans and re- duced maternal and child mortality rates. It also should give us reason to worry as a higher population would mean higher pressure on re- sources, more food, more jobs and more dwellings. The de- mand on affordable health- care would also go up. Last year the National Family Health data said that India’s Total Fertility Rate has declined from 2.2 in 2015- 16 to 2.0, or below replace- ment ratio of 2.1. Replace- ment level is the level at which a population replaces itself. In simpler words, a sin- gle generation is not produc- ing enough children to re- place itself. This does not imply that the population will begin to fall immediately but it should peak sooner than predicted. A study pub- lished in Lancet in 2020 pre- dicted that by 2100 the TFR would fall to 1.9 and the popu- lation would come down by 300 million. India is in a stage where the population continues to grow despite falling birth rates due to the high propor- tion of young population. YOUR DAY Horoscope by Saurabbh Sachdeva 10 ETC JAIPUR | TUESDAY, JULY 12, 2022 www.firstindia.co.in I https://firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur I twitter.com/thefirstindia I facebook.com/thefirstindia I instagram.com/thefirstindia he famous mythological tale of Devi Durga vs the t o r m e n t o r Mahishasur goes some- thing like this. There was once a vicious young demon named Mahishasur who wanted nothing more than to become im- mortal and be the su- preme power across earth and heaven. He prayed relentlessly to the Gods, and seeing his dedication, Lord Bramha appeared and granted him one wish. The cunning demon Mahishasur asked that he be made the most powerful creature on the plan- et, rendering him in- vincible by any man or God! Bramha un- suspectingly granted him his wish. Shortly after, Mahishasur gained immense strength and powers and began to misuse his superiority by wreaking havoc across the earth. He even dislodged most Gods from their heav- enly abodes, leaving them to scurry to Bramha for help. An urgent meeting between Bramha, Vishnu and Mahesh saw them create God- dess Durga to take on and vanquish Ma- hishasur. Many Gods came together and be- stowed a slew of pow- ers and weapons upon Durga. Shiva gave her a Trishul, the God of the Himalayas gave her a Lion to ride on, and so forth. Durga became like a one-per- son army , endowed with multiple special skills, making her the only match for Ma- hishasur. Armed with all these powers, Dur- gadescendedfromthe heavens, and after a long and arduous ten- day battle, beheaded Mahishasur, restoring peace and order. It took a woman of many talents and powers to triumph over evil. This story fromourmythologyis of particular signifi- cance simply because it reminds us as a so- ciety , of the boundless vigourandtenacityof a woman, provided she can develop, and hone her skills. It is the former aspect of the aforementioned statement that is espe- cially relevant today; that a woman whose skills and powers are developed and nur- tured, is an unstoppa- ble force. This is what we need to d r a w a n d l e a r n f r o m Durga’s story and apply to soci- ety . Not only does Goddess Durga serve as an icon for empowering women, but her life also presents many lessons from which we can learn, particu- larly about women in society today . THE POWER OF TRANSFORMATION It is well known that Goddess Durga transformed herself into many different avatars depending on the need and situ- ation she was pre- sented w i t h . Women mirror this trait in everyday life, smoothly tran- sitioning from wife, to mother, employee to sister. This dex- terity ought to be treasured, celebrat- ed and appreciated much more than it perhaps is. HOLISTIC STRENGTH Durga also displays and demonstrates that she was strong in Mind and Body. She wasn’t just a woman who was a great physical war- rior but also an in- dividual who had tremendous psycho- logical resolve. This again is an enviable quality that is pre- sent in all women, something that ought to be applaud- ed and amplified, and lessons learned therefrom. COLLABORATIVE The reason Durga was able to over- come Mahishashur was that her endeav- our to conquer him was the culmination of a collaborative enterprise. All the various Gods who put their might and trust in her, helped her overcome the de- mon monster. In real life too, women are naturally prone to draw from the peo- ple around them. If a woman is sur- rounded by people who are positive and encouraging, there is virtually no limit to the heights a woman can reach. FACING FEARS Durga always stayed steadfast in purpose. She too had fears but she didn’t cower, choosing instead to face them, head-on. She tamed a wild lion too! Herein is anoth- er great lesson for young women and girls across the coun- try – to not let fear determine their ac- tions but rather push them to confront and triumph. DUALITY Durga is one of the best examples of a single entity em- bodying ferocity as well as compassion. Equal parts de- stroyer and creator, Durga’s life and sto- ry provide invalua- ble learnings for women of all ages, that within them resides the ability to be protector and caregiver. We celebrate Dur- ga Puja each year with much pomp and pageantry. That is all well and good. Per- haps this time, we should also look a lit- tle deeper and take a leaf out of the God- dess’s life and use it as inspiration to bring up the women of tomorrow!
