3. US GDP contracted 1.4% in 2022’s 1st
quarter
● US Economy contracted in the first three months of 2022
which is first time since second quarter of 2020. Falling
exports and a decrease in government spending took a
toll.
● The slowdown was caused by a rise in imports and a
drop in private inventory investment, exports, federal
government spending, and state and local government

4. Sebi rejigs market data advisory panel
● Sebi has restructured its advisory committee on market
data that recommends policy measures pertaining to
areas like securities market data access and privacy.
● Earlier the committee had 20 members, now it will have 21
members.

5. IRDAI panel suggests 'micro insurance'
modules
● The committee has suggested that the insurers should be
allowed to adopt a modular approach using various
permutations and combinations for Combi MI (Micro
Insurance) products.
● 'MI' aims to protect low-income people with insurance
products that are affordable.

6. HDFC raises lending rate by 5 basis points
● Mortgage lender HDFC Ltd on Sunday raised its
benchmark lending rate by 5 basis points, a move that
will increase EMI for existing borrowers.
● There is no change in the lending for new borrowers. The
rates for new borrowers range between 6.70 per cent and
7.15 per cent, depending on credit and loan amount.
