Working Title:
My own way
Audience:
I will have 2 target audiences, the first being people like the main character in any way, similar
age, situation, gender. The main character is going to be an 18-year-old boy from a working-class
family. This will also be my target demographic as they can relate to at least one part of the story.
My second audience will be adults, the movie will function to them as an eye opener showing how
you treat you child can impact them.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout the year I have learnt how to use photoshop and premier to a decent standard, as well
as garage band and indesign to an okay standard. Since I have this knowledge it only makes
sense to make a piece of film rather than print, and most of the film I have made so far was semi
like ideas I have about this piece. For example, when I filmed my music video it was dark, I had to
fix the colour and lighting on premier afterwards to make it look the way I wanted and now I have
that knowledge for my fmp.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
I am going to make a short film trailer showing the start to a story about a teenage boy living in an
abusive household where he is looked at as if he is worthless because he wants to follow his
dreams and be a musician. He ends up in a fist fight with his father and then runs away with only a
bag oh his belongings, his car and his guitar. He lives all across the country sleeping in his car on
hills, by the beach, in forests on hammocks and eventually when his skills develop enough and he
runs out of money starts street busking for money, this goes extremely well and by the end he is
getting gigs etc. the trailer will lay down the very basic story and have lots of wide beautiful
scenery in it. The aim of the movie is to bring publicity to this issue and just work as a good feel
good movie.
I will need to research other movies in the realistic drama genre, so far I have seen some like KES
and I Daniel Blake but I will need to watch more and find conventions that I can try use. I also need
to research how to film the kind of shots I want, showing a lot of stuff in one frame, making it look
like the main character is the smallest thing on the screen etc.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
To evaluate my work I plan to compare it to what I planned to make and see if I did everything I
said I would, after that I will compare it to the movies I took for influence and see how it compares.
I will then ask some people to watch it and give me feedback and tell me how I could have
improved and what the enjoyed.
