Riad & Riad has rich practical experience in trade remedies and customs regulations. Our
partners established and maintained positive communication with the Egyptian foreign trade
authorities, antidumping investigation authorities, the Customs Authority, chambers of
import and export and the Industrial Association.
We help our clients by conducting and providing complete and accurate advice on how to
prepare their responses to questionnaires and other necessary documents required by
Egyptian investigation authorities.

Egyptian anti-dumping or safeguard investigations.

Customs Law
We provide legal advice on Egypt’s Customs Law, including customs classification, customs
valuation, pre-shipment inspection, disputes on rules of origins, import and export licensing,
customs tariffs, and trade in services.
Selected experience of our partners include representing one of the multinational food
processing companies on customs value rules throughout highly complex investigations by
local authorities under the Agreement on Implementation of Article VII (Customs Valuation).

Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Riad & Riad has a specialized Arbitration and Dispute Resolution team. Team members have
extensive experience in handling high-value ad hoc as well as institutional arbitrations
observing rules applicable at major arbitration institutes including, ICC, ICSID, DIAC and
CRCIRA.
Our litigation department is equipped with more than 20 licensed lawyers. The head of our
litigation team has an experience of 35 years in commercial and administrative litigation and
advocacy practice. We have handled and continue to handle significant numbers of cases
before Egyptian Courts; including the Supreme Constitutional Court, the Court of Cassation
and the State Council courts. Our litigation team has unique knowledge of local culture and
practices of Egyptian judicial system.
We handle complex litigation with high value and high profile disputes involving high
strategic advice, multiple practice specialties and cross border proceedings. Our litigation
team has strong capabilities to provide wide variety of services, including:
Prepare pre-trial succinct and meticulous assessment of the value and merits of a
dispute to advice the client on the strengths and weaknesses of each side and the
proper strategy to deploy.
Assist in the settlement negotiations and arrangements for certain lawsuits/disputes.
Handle lawsuits during the trial stage up until the issuance of final/enforceable
judgments. This will include preparing statement of claims, all memoranda and
briefs, attending court hearings, attending before court appointed experts, and
preparing expert opinions.
Provide oversight, direction and tactical planning by lead experienced trial lawyers,
while delegating relevant tasks to the team in a cost effective way.

Fatma has more than 15 years of experience in corporate law, project finance, trade law,
cross-border transactions, and dispute resolution. She represents local and international

Asia as well as governmental entities. She also provides legal advices and represents clients
in high profile litigation trade investigations in a broad spectrum of business sectors.
Fatma is a professor of law at the School of Law, Cairo University since 2010. She teaches
courses of business law, international commercial arbitration and evidence law.

Eman has an extensive experience on labor & employment matters and social insurance law.
She advises clients on commercial law, corporate, and pharmaceuticals. During her work
experience, she has handled the day to day legal work for multiple multi-national and local

Eman has extensive experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and liaising
with relevant governmental bodies; i.e. the Ministry of Manpower and Social Insurance
Ministry, and handling and resolving major employees' strikes/sit-ins. She tactically handles
internal investigations and redundancy settlements with senior employees and employees in
managerial positions. Eman is also a labor and employment law professor at Cairo
University. She is a regular speaker at labor and employment seminars and events in Egypt.

Mohamed focuses his practice on banking and finance. He has extensive experience in a wide

He specializes in anti-dumping litigation, civil, commercial and criminal proceedings and
white collar crimes. Sherif has wide experience using alternative dispute resolution methods
where appropriate to achieve the best results for his clients, including commercial mediation

Abdel Moneem is an expert in international trade law, multijurisdictional transactions, and
public and regulatory law. He has more than 20 years of experience advising multinational

Abdel Moneem currently occupies the position of Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Cairo
University. He teaches nationality and immigration law, conflict of laws and jurisdictions, as
