• Plan is future course of

• All Pakistan
educational
conference was held
in November 1947 to
give direction to
education.
• The policy made a
number of
recommendations to
make the education
system stronger and
relevant to nation’s
need.

•Urdu the official language,
•Curriculum revision,
•Diversification of courses,
•Compulsory Islamic instructions,

Commission on National Education 1959
•In October 1956, the civil
government was dismissed and
the Martial Law was imposed
by General MuhammadAyub
khan(Shareef Commision

the revision and modernization of
the science curricula and the
extension of science education to
classes 9th and 10th.

•In December 1966 the second Martial
Law was imposed by generalYahya
khan(National Educational Policy,
1970).

Khan gave some suggestions to
improve education system

•Curriculum should be modernized.
•Noor khan too much importance to higher
education e.g.,
•Universities should increase in country
•Punjab University should promote and
increase its area
•Three universities should establish in Koeta,
Multan & Sargodha.

National Education Policy 1972-80
• Elections held under this Martial Law
in 1970.
• Under these elections the Pakistan
government was handed over to the
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1971(National
Educational Policy, 1972). .Farhana Shams
•A special provision was made to
implement a national curriculum in all
the provinces of the country.
•Curricula were revised and
modernized
•A National Book Foundation was set
up to publish foreign books at lower
price.

Policy • A course or principle of action adopted or proposed by an organization or individual • A plan or course of action, as of a government, political party, or business, intended to influence and determine decisions, actions, and other matters • A set of ideas or a plan of what to do in particular situations that has been agreed officially by a group of people, a business organization, a government, or a political party Farhana Shams
  • 5. Difference between policy and plan • Plan is future course of action. • Policy is a set of rules and regulation created by the top level management. Farhana Shams
  • 6. The subjects comprising a course of study in a school or college. Farhana Shams
  • 7. National Educational Conference 1947 • All Pakistan educational conference was held in November 1947 to give direction to education. • The policy made a number of recommendations to make the education system stronger and relevant to nation’s need. Farhana Shams
  • 8. Continue… Theses included the following recommendations: •Urdu the official language, •Curriculum revision, •Diversification of courses, •Compulsory Islamic instructions, •Free and compulsory education for all. Farhana Shams
  • 9. Commission on National Education 1959 •In October 1956, the civil government was dismissed and the Martial Law was imposed by General MuhammadAyub khan(Shareef Commision Report, 1959). Farhana Shams
  • 10. Continue…. •This commission laid emphasis on the revision and modernization of the science curricula and the extension of science education to classes 9th and 10th. Farhana Shams
  • 11. National Education Policy 1969 •In December 1966 the second Martial Law was imposed by generalYahya khan(National Educational Policy, 1970). Farhana Shams
  • 12. Education Minister Air Marshal Noor Khan gave some suggestions to improve education system Farhana Shams

Suggestions •Curriculum should be modernized. •Noor khan too much importance to higher education e.g., •Universities should increase in country •Punjab University should promote and increase its area •Three universities should establish in Koeta, Multan & Sargodha. •A medical university should be in countryFarhana Shams
  • 14. National Education Policy 1972-80 • Elections held under this Martial Law in 1970. • Under these elections the Pakistan government was handed over to the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1971(National Educational Policy, 1972). .Farhana Shams
  • 15. •A special provision was made to implement a national curriculum in all the provinces of the country. •Curricula were revised and modernized •A National Book Foundation was set up to publish foreign books at lower price. Farhana Shams

National Education Policy 1979 •Curricula revision with a view to reorganizing the entire content around Islamic thought. •Use of National language as medium of instruction. •Separate educational institutions for female students up to highest level with specially designed curricula.Farhana Shams
  • 25. Main Points •Textbooks and maintance of national standard of education. •Use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in education will be promoted. •Emphasized and pledged the continues and ongoing evaluation of the curriculum. Farhana Shams
