2. Post Management in Wordpress
Here we will be discussing about wordpress posts and categories. let’s start it with categories.
Working with posts categories:
1. Navigate to PostsCategories in the admin panel dashboard menu.
2. On this page it shows the categories already created and provides an option to create new
categories. We will create a new category named as testimonials
3. Provide name of the category in the name text field. The category will appear by this name
on the website.
4. Next provide the slug it is a user friendly name of the category.
5. Choose parent i.e. parent category for the category if any.
6. Provide description about the category in the text area.
7. Once we are done click on Add New Category.

3. Working with posts:
We have created a category named as Testimonials in the last section. Now we will see how to
create a post and associate it with categories in wordpress.
1. Navigate to PostsAdd New in the wordpress admin section dashboard menu.
2. Here we get an area where we can write about post, have a look at the screen-shot then we
will move step-wise to create post.
3. Give the title to your post.
4. The content for the blog post.
5. If the blog post contains any image assign it to the featured image section.
6. Choose the category in which you want your blog post to fall.
7. Provide comma separated tags.

4. 8. Once you are done just do a Publish to make post live else can draft the post to publish later.
Editing posts:
The existing posts could be edited just in the manner pages could be edited. Follow the steps to
edit the existing posts:
1. Navigate to PostsAll posts in the admin menu
2. On all posts page we will get all the posts created. To edit any of the post just move to
the title section of the post and click the edit link.
3. In the next step we will get the edit window identical to add post window.
4. Do the changes required and Publish the post to make it live with updated stuff.
Deleting posts:
To delete the post click on the Trash link which will move the post to Trash folder as a result
the post won’t be in active state.
