2. Role of the Working Party on Statistics
• Provides the public with reliable data on aid
through the DAC’s statistical systems, including
the annual DAC Aggregate Reporting System
and the Creditor Reporting System (CRS).
• Proposes and implements changes to ODA data
collection (purpose codes, policy markers, types
of aid).
• Collaborates with sectoral specialists to establish
definitions and guidelines.

9. Reporting aid for women’s and children’s health:
By 2012, development partners request the OECD-
DAC to agree on how to improve the Creditor
Reporting System so that it can capture, in a timely
manner, all reproductive, maternal, newborn and
child health spending by development partners. In
the interim, development partners and the OECD
implement a simple method for reporting such
expenditure.

• Participants from donor countries (statisticians
and health experts), multilateral organizations,
and NGOs.
• Two options emerged for an RMNCH marker that
would allow tracking at project level.
• Definitions, guidelines, and examples to be
developed to ensure data integrity and
interpretation.

7. Timelines & Next Steps
• Proposal for RMNCH marker to be presented at
informal meeting of the Working Party on Statistics in
February 2012 for discussion and elaboration.
• Final proposal presented to formal meeting of the
Working Party on Statistics in June 2012 for approval.
• Reporting could commence in 2013 on 2012 aid
flows.
