3. SPECIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
I was tested at a 12
th
grade reading level in 2
nd
grade.
Able to play the following instruments; string bass, piano, guitar, drum kit, percussion, Hammond organ, and trumpet. Have performed in
various plays, jazz concerts, weddings, and bands over the past 28 years. Some of the people I have had the pleasure of playing with are; Dr.
Yoon Il Auh, Jack Bruske (RIP), Charlie Brown (RIP), Dr. William Howell, Jeff Hall, Dr. Jane Girdham, Dr. Eric Nisula, Maynard
Ferguson, Jim Martinez, Michael Brush, Tony Rongo (RIP), Vincent Gaskew, Gerald Cameron, and Terry Newman. I have enjoyed the
pleasure of playing double bass with SVSU’s Forever Strings String Orchestra for the past 7 years. Some of the more popular people I have
been blessed to have opened up for thus far in my career are; Bobby Blue Bland, with Sharrie Williams and the Wiseguys; Wayne Newton, with
Classic Graffitti; and Larry McCray, with Swaggering Rogues. Recently I was involved with writing and recording the soundtrack of a local
director’s documentary. It is called “Jungleland; A Documentary of the Women of Vietnam,” by Kelly Coffee. This is my first film
soundtrack. I recorded the 1:30 track at my home studio. On this, I am featured playing my Wechter Nylon String Classical Guitar at the
beginning and towards the beginning of the credits through to the end of the film. At the American School of Double Bass 9th Annual Summer
Retreat Final Concert, on July 22nd, 2006, I was pleased to perform with members of the Capital University Orchestra, on Dimitri Shostakovich’s
Quartet No. 8, Opus 110 ( Part II, Allegro Molto). I had the distinct pleasure of receiving important professional advice about my classical
playing from Dr. Mark Morton (Artistic Director of the American School of Double Bass), Dr. Shao-Ian Lee (Future Virtuosi Faculty), and Dianne
Frazer Cross (pianist). I am proud to say I played a small role in the part of the following groups; Paledave (guitar, keyboards, and backing
vocals), Scott Tuttle Quartet (double bass), O (keyboards), and Ryder Blind (electric bass). I was a founding member of Curtice/Markley &
Motown Station. I currently work with my new group, which you are not prepared for, known as X-Ray-Ted. Lastly, I have had the pleasure of
performing professionally with a wide array of local and national musicians both in planned performances and as a last minute fill-in sideman, for
more than 30 years. Recently, I acted in a short film project entitled Class Project, which was a production done for the Delta College Life Long
Learning course known as Film Fundamentals, for which I received a certificate of completion. I also recorded, performed and produced the
music to said film. During the fall 2009 semester, I volunteered as a camera operator for the Delta College Pledge Drive. I finished scoring,
recording, mixing, and mastering the music soundtrack for the first HALO YouTube Machinima Series to switch to Animation; CNP The
Animated Series (aka CNP Season 4). Currently, I am proud to be part of the band known as Chosen By Fate, in which I play lead guitar. Chosen
By Fate is an amazingly talented and hard rock progressive metal (no scream-o) band. For more about Chosen By Fate goto;
