Sugar is witnessing some demand now as stocksts are buying the
fresh stocks amid festivals around the country. Mill prices have
recovered from their lowest levels in three years. However, supplies
are equally good. The domestic Sugar production is up 27.3% in the
first three months of the 2014-15 season that began in October to hit
74.61 lakh tonnes (lt) as on December 31, according to latest data
released by the Indian Sugar Mills Association. The strong gains in
the output have been primarily attributed to mills in Uttar Pradesh
(UP) beginning cane crushing operations a week earlier than last
season.
The government considered politically sensitive urea fertilizer in
the next three years, is working on a plan to decontrol. Therefore, the
urea production, import and pricing will be completely deregulated,
the price of urea to farmers in three years, twenty percent every year,
is set to increase to reduce the subsidy burden. However, depending
on the card using Jndn plan and deliver fertilizer subsidy directly to
farmers account move is part of the plan.According to high-ranking
officials in the Ministry of fertilizer, urea, in freeing the three-year
plan has been drawn up and presented by the glimpse Finance
Minister Arun Jaitley likely to see in the next year's budget.Modi
government raised prices of urea and decide freeing freeing the
diesel subsidy cuts on the front of the Modi government's move

price of urea (MRP) of Rs 5360 to Rs 9500 per tonne per tonne will
be increased from the current level. The price of each bag of 50 kg
increased from Rs 268 to Rs 475 per bag.
Chana prices have extended their weakness amid lack of buying as arrivals
surged. However, continued worries on the rabi sowings front are likely to
trigger buying if prices fall further. Rising Tur arrivals and steady inflow of
old Chana stocks are keeping a check on the sentiments and Delhi Chana
prices dropped to Rs 3400 per quintal, down Rs 35/40 per quintal on the day.
These are the lowest levels in nearly a month for the commodity. Major losses
have emerged in the area under Gram or Chana. The area under sowing of
Gram is at 81.98 lakh hectares this year while the last year's figure was 98.16
lakh hectares. Area coverage under Total Pulses is at 133.41 lakh hectares
while the last year's sowing area coverage was 149.17 lakh hectares.
Jeera prices continued to soar, breaking above Rs 16000 per quintal today
on resurgence in buying as traders are eying major crop losses in key
producing states. Prices soared in last few days on good buying support
following persistent worries over the acreage. The commodity is trading at Rs
16371 per quintal, up Rs 400 per quintal on the day. The total daily arrivals
stand at just 7000 bags- witnessing a slack season lull.
.Turmeric Good arrivals were noted in Nizamabad today as well and the
prices tumbled amid thin demand. The traders are expecting this momentum
to continue, keeping prices slightly on a bearish track. Prices have already
soared by around 30% in last three weeks,, hitting highs above Rs 8000 per
quintal. However, the counter is trading at Rs 8033 per quintal mark in
Nizamabad today, up Rs 15 per quintal on the day.

CHANA ARIVALS AT KEY SPOT MARKETNational Market Update
Chana at NCDEX surge on fresh buying. Commencement of new chana
arrived in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil. At Vijaywada market in Andhra Pradesh,
Chana Desi closed strong at Rs. 3350 per quintal, up by 3.72 per cent from
previous trading day. Estimated market supply was at 1000 quintals, steady as
against previous day's arrival.Moong Desi finished lower at Rs. 7500 per
quintal, lower by 1.32 per cent from previous price level. Arrivals were
reported at 2000 quintals, higher by 1500 quintals as against previous day.Urad
Polish at Vijaywada market finished strong at Rs. 5900-6000 per quintal, up by
2.56 per cent as compared to previous day. Trade sources reported arrivals at
3000 quintals, higher by 2500 quintals from previous day's arrivals.Urad
Sada(Bada) at Vijaywada market finished weak at Rs. 5700 per quintal, lower
by 0.87 per cent from previous trading day.Jan.19,2015. Rabi Pulses Sowing
Down 11% Y-O-Y, Chana Down 16 %. According to Ministry of Agriculture,
total rabi pulses acreage till Jan. 16,2015 is down by 11% to 133.41 lakh
hectare(Ha.) as compared with last year’s area coverage of 149.17 lakh hectare
during the corresponding week. The area planted under chana is also down by
16% to 81.98 Lakh Ha. against 98.16 lakh ha. in same corresponding week
during last year.
Myanmar exported 57,721 tonnes ( including 48900 tonnes as non-border)
and 8821 tonne as border) of pulses in October 2014, down 13% from 71274
tonne (57217 tonne as non-border & 9065 tonne as border) in last month’s
level due to the new crop season in India. The October's 2014 export is also
down by 54% from 125893 tonne exported during same period in last year.
The total shipment till Oct.,2014 is totaled at 1063833 tonne. The urad
accounts for 20262 tonne, followed by 20347 tonne of toor and 5423 tonne of
moong. The Domestic wholesale prices for urad and Toor Whole beans
increased due to lower stocks while the price forMung beans remained strong
in response to a steady demand from China.
