7. COMMODITY BUZZ AND ECONOMIC EVENTS

SPECIAL NEWS
 The value of exported goods was NZD3.7 billion in July
2014, down NZD125 million (3.3 percent) compared with
July 2013, Statistics New Zealand said today. The value of
imports fell NZD221 million (4.8 percent). The trade bal-ance
for July 2014 was a deficit of NZD692 million (19 per-cent
of exports), up NZD 242 million from last month. Sea-sonally
adjusted exports fell 7.5 percent in July 2014 com-pared
with June 2014. Seasonally adjusted imports fell 1.8
percent in July 2014. Yearly trade balance NZD1.29B from
NZD1.20B last month.
 Japan's index measuring corporate service prices were up
3.7 percent on year in July, the Bank of Japan said on Tues-day,
coming in at 102.7. The figure was unchanged from
the previous month following an upward revision from 3.6
percent. On a monthly basis, prices were flat after adding
0.2 percent in June.
COMMODITY BUZZ
 MCX Gold futures surged today as the global gold futures
jumped amid selling in Asianmarkets. The metal wit-nessed
good buying again around its two month low
mark. Thecommodity had dropped in last session with the
Chinese demand worries adding anotherbearish layer to
an already fractured market. Strength in dollar also
weighed on the metallast night but the Asian trades wit-nessed
good buying and the COMEX Gold is quoting
at$1289 per ounce, up $10 per ounce on the day. .
 Domestic Copper prices have remained under performing
this year thanks to the rising output in the world Copper
mines and the estimates of Copper mine production be-tween
2014 to 2017. The prices of Copper have seen an
increase of 8.5% this year .
