What we do
CORPORATE INNOVATION
Behind everything we do is a desire
to spread innovative thinking and the
techniques that support it so we can
all better address important
problems. We educate corporate
teams on how to systematically
innovate.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
If the project warrants a proof-of-
concept prototype to more concretely
clarify what to build, we can research
and develop a solution/experience that
may involve data, software or hardware
components, or more likely a
combination of these.
ENVISIONING SERVICES
Envisioning is our process for
helping you understand what to
build, it’s the process of designing
futures and understanding the
technological, societal and
environmental vectors that will
influence the creation of new
products, services or business
models.
DIGITAL INNOVATION
From designing blockchain-powered
platforms that provide refugees with an
incorruptible medical ID to designing
mobile-based applications to educate
about biodiversity in Latin America, our
digital innovation services integrate
technologies that create engaging
experiences for social and/or
environmental impact.

technological solu3ons to address a social
concern in the city: urban poverty.
Solution:
Envisioning Labs facilitated an idea3on
hackathon and innova3on workshop that
brought in professionals from diverse
backgrounds and from several organiza3ons
including MicrosoI, SAP, the Bri3sh Columbia
government, Vancity, NGOs and local hi-tech
startups. The workshop rendered a total of nine
proposals that were submi[ed to the City. Ideas

Organization:
Bri=sh Columbia Ministry of Social
Innova=on / MOSAIC
Challenge:
Reduce underemployment of professional
Canadian newcomers in their ini3al five years in
the country.
Solution:
Envisioning Labs craIed the design of a new
service/business model that allowed new
immigrants to gain experience in their field of
exper3se as soon as they landed in the country.
We trained new Canadians in innova3on
methodologies that they used in solving real-
world projects provided by sponsored
companies. Par3cipants gained immediate
Canadian experience in professional projects
thereby boos3ng their resumes and
employability, while sponsor companies were
able to obtain proof of concepts of an innova3on
that posi3vely impacted their businesses.

Organization:
Ombrae Studios
Challenge:
Luxury brands like Lamborghini and Louis Vui[on
use our client’s technology to produce samples
that took up to a month to produce. We were
tasked with idea3ng a process and developing a
cloud-based applica3on to cut down prototyping
3me and simplifying the back-and-forth
communica3on aIer a sample was delivered.
Solution:
We developed a cloud-based plaaorm that
allows any user with li[le or no training to build
online prototypes and preview final products in
real 3me. The solu3on was able to cut down
prototyping 3mes by 80% as users were
crea3ng, tweaking and visualizing the samples
themselves before commiTng to produc3on.

Innova3ve Solu3ons Canada and sponsored by
the Na3onal Research Council. The la[er
organiza3on was seeking new solu3ons to
enable the tes3ng of metal powder bed density
in addi3ve manufacturing processes.
Solution:
We developed a gravimetry-based, precision test
equipment prototype capable of determining
the density of each 3D printed layers in an
addi3ve manufacturing process. The final
objec3ve of the project is to commercialize a
device that helps 3D print complex metal pieces
in the aerospace, manufacturing, transporta3on
and healthcare industries.

with crea3ve ideas to mi3gate the imminent
effects of sea level rise due to climate change in
the Metro Vancouver area.
Solution:
We developed a mathema3cal algorithm that
assigns a tradable risk currency to proper3es
that are expected to be submerged, affected by
floods or become coastline. Our team proposed
the core principles of a new economy that is
based on the risk of property submergence as a

Challenge
Educate the general public about

experience for one of the largest
drive-through natural reserves in La3n
America.
Solution
We built a digital plaaorm, mobile app and a bluetooth
beacon network that worked together to trigger
educa3onal stories in the user’s device while driving
through the various animal sta3ons. The solu3on used
Google maps to indicate the areas in which visitors could
discover animals, restaurants and services by listening to
the verbal indica3ons generated by the beacons or by
consul3ng the map shown in the applica3on. Furthermore,
the app incorporated a gamifica3on strategy through
quizzes presented to users in specific spots that earn them
virtual coins; these coins could later be redeemed in the
park’s shops and restaurants.
