The document discusses feedback received on various promotional materials created by the author. For a poster, feedback indicated that more institutional information was needed, which the author addressed. Feedback on a magazine confirmed that conventions had been followed. Feedback on a trailer identified issues with text fonts and shot ordering, which the author used to improve clarity and understandability. In all cases, the author found the audience feedback helpful to strengthen the promotional materials.
2. Poster
• The audience feedback that I received for this
was very helpful, as it meant that I was able to
improve on factors such as the institutional
information; as this was an area that several
people thought could be laid out in a more
aesthetically pleasing way, as well as the fact
that they felt there wasn’t enough of it, I set
about improving it so that it would appear
more conventional.
3. As you can see here, the second version is a lot more
conventional and aesthetically pleasing than the first, which it
would not have been if I had not decided to take the negative
aspects of my audience feedback into consideration.
Before After
4. Magazine
• My magazine was something that I chose to
improve of my own accord; however, the
audience feedback that I received for the
finished version showed me that I had been
successful in abiding by conventions and
making a professional-looking magazine.
5. Trailer
• This was the part of my promotional package that received the
most audience feedback, due to the fact that we regularly showed
updated versions of it to our media class, who then offered their
suggestions regarding improvements. This helped us in terms of
what order to put shots in, which to get rid of and how we could
make the storyline clearer through the text, as, after having
watched the trailer so many times ourselves, it became difficult to
see exactly what areas needed improving.
• Furthermore, we also created a Facebook group that people could
watch our trailer via and give feedback; despite the fact that there
were still a few glitches with the trailer, this was extremely helpful
as it showed that most people were finding the two different fonts
used in the text confusing; we therefore took this into consideration
and got rid of all of the text in the old font, as it didn’t really add
anything to the storyline and meant that the narrative was unclear.
6. These two different versions of the trailer demonstrate that we have
taken on any feedback we received:
