2. The Extended Play
Album
■ ”EP” stands for “Extended Play.” For
something to be considered an EP it
must be shorter than 30 minutes in
length and contain 2-5 songs. (EP's, LP's,
albums and Mixtapes, 2019)

Album
■ A “Long Play Album” also known as an
“LP” is significantly longer than an EP
.
Some argue than an LP is different than a
regular studio album while others argue
that there’s no difference. An LP album
consists of at least 10-12 tracks but can

■ Back on Sunday October
2nd, 2022, Jackpot Records
hosted an event where
Love Battery celebrated
their 30th anniversary and
first reissue of their debut
album, Dayglo.

7. “Swag”
■ After doing research I was not able to find any
“freebies,” but Jackpot Records does have a merch line,
so I decided to include that. They have t-shirts, hoodies,
tote bags, and beanies all in a variety of colors.

8. Promos
■ Jackpot Records is
currently promoting
two vinyl’s that are
available for preorder
right now. The records
are called “Jackpot
Plays PINBALL” and you
can get Vol. 1 or Vol. 2.
The vinyl’s contain
music from popular
pinball machines back
in the 90s.

9. Reflection
■ From the research I’ve done Jackpot Records seems like a very hip and popular
record shop. I would definitely consider using this store for an indie artists
album release. Since the store already hosts some live shows, I would ask
them if that would be a possibility and if I would be able to leave samplers at
their counter near the register. Jackpot Records is also a record label so if all
goes as planned with the album release, they could offer the artist to sign
with them which would be the best scenario.
