2. Image 1
I really liked the colours in this
image, and the use of the human
body , it appears like the women's
body is growing from the flowers. It
looks natural . I like the angel wings
and reminds me of Ariel in the
tempest. It has a look of surrealism
and fantasy.
3. Image 2
I like the stone cold look to this
human body. It looks as if the body
has been carved out of stone and
then grown a mould like shape for
wings. This again is natural but has
a sense of surrealism. This is
inspiring me with my costume
interpretations for Ariel.
4. Image 3
The clear complexion of the human
looks un realistic, it looks as if she
has been made from stone or
another organic form. I like that she
is lying on the beach. Its simple. I
feel this would be like the people
who lived on the island.
5. Image 4
The colours in this are bright and
strong. Its very surreal like and
highlights the fantasy side in the
play. I like how the flowers form
into strips, where their are eyes
and features of the face hidden.
It appears like they have grown
from the flowers.
6. Image 5
Again another surreal image, of
flowers and facial parts hidden
in and around the image.
7. Image 6
I like the movement
and costumes in the
image. The figures
remind me of Caliban
and Prospero fighting.
The humans are quite
animal like in
appearance and
characteristics.
8. Image 7
I like the use of
masks here. It
shows disguise
and a surreal like
approach to the
tempest. The
figure looks
inhuman and
perhaps could be
mistaken for a
creature.
9. Image 8
This figure looks like it has
formed from the pond. The
figure appears creepy and
monstrous. It appears to me
how I imagine people on
the island would look like. I
like the idea of caliban
having green skin.
10. Image 9
This photograph
of the waves
crushing the
shore is how I
imagined the
storm would
look like in the
Tempest. With
dark muggy
water.
11. Image 10
The huge wave is how I
picture the storm to look
in The Tempest, as the
boat crashes into the
Island. I like how
terrifying and large the
waves look compared to
the people and the shore.
The scale of the waves
against the people is
quite frightening and
intimidating .
