1. I am a Medical Assistant with an Associate Degree In Specialized Technology. In 1999, I finished
my credits earning my degree and completing my externship at an OB/GYN practice In
Greensburg PA, where I was also hired as a Medical Assistant. My duties included: Assisting the
Doctors with routine pelvic exams along with Invasive procedures ex. Colposcopy, Cryotherapy,
endometrial biopsy and ablation. I performed and documented in patients charts B/P, H&Ps,
Weight and Temps. I set up and tore down exam rooms, along with manual and ultrasonic
cleaning of instruments using detergents and sterilization process. I also administered Injections
for birth control (Depo Provera). I utilized my excellent communicational skills daily. I performed
front office duties that included: Patient scheduling, Insurance authorizations, co-pays, patient
reminders, follow up calls, pulling, filing patients charts, retrieved and sorted Doctors mail and
distributed reports. I proficiently used phone, fax, printer and computer. I was cut back on hours
due to budgeting, sadly I had to find another job. I immediately went on to work as a Medical
Assistant for UPMC Veterans Clinic of Greensburg. This was a growing and busy practice,
including Pediatrics and wound care specialties, along with PCP for Veterans. My job duties

administered Injections, dressed and undressed wounds, I worked with infants, toddlers, and

appropriate tubes, Centrifuge machine, and Autoclave. I used office equipment such as phone,

respected the privacy HIPPA laws along with the State Regulatory working policies and
procedures, I can multi-task, be a team player and I always maintained a positive and friendly
personality. After working there for 6 months, office cutbacks were needed, and once again
being the last one hired I had to be cut. I was sad to leave but knew I would find another great
job. Lastly, I went on to work at my hometown community hospital In Mount Pleasant. " Excela

old as a mini-server in the hospitality shop. It was close in proximity and I loved the employees
and I knew a lot of the patients from growing up in the same town. I started out in the year
2000 by working as a patient Registrar in the outpatient registration department. I figured I
would work there until something else would become available or I could bid into. I am always
willing to grow and learn new skills, I enjoyed working there. My duties included: Typing, patient
interaction, communication skills, Data processing, Health Insurance Authorizations, Diagnosis
Codes, Pre-registering patients, Patient Information entry, I also was part of the ER Department
team, I used a switch board calling system during the second and third shift, to page on-call
physicians, transferring phone calls with (call park), overhead announcements, handled lifeline
calls, entered patient's Insurance info. into the computer system, maintained a calm and
professional attitude during highly stressful situations. I enjoyed being helpful to patients and
their family members who had just received troubling news that their loved one just passed
away, or being of assistance to the very sick and injured. I assisted the RN's and physicians when

the Cardiopulmonary/Cardiovascular department. I previously bid on this position while working
in registration. I accrued seniority while working in registration, so I carefully considered the
position. It was a non bargaining (non union), It was originally a full-time position that changed
to a part time position M-F (6.5 hrs. a day), I was happy to take the position, I interviewed and
was hired. I was now the Echo Secretary for the Cardiopulmonary Department. Immediately
starting I hit it off with all my new coworkers and made this my new home. The workload was
immense and outdated but I was excited to apply my skills and make all necessary changes that
were up to date and speed. I brought new ideas and made changes that will forever benefit
Excela Health Frick Hospital.
After leaving Excela Health Frick Hospital after 15 years of employment, I decided to take a few
months off to work on some of my innovations and ideas. I currently have a great computer
design that I am finding difficult to make on my own since I am not a computer engineer Lol,
however I will continue to push forward and not give up.
I seeked a full time job where I could utilize my skills and also care for individuals who have
special needs and who need special care on a more personable level. I applied for a position at
Passavant Memorial Homes, I was hired in February 2016 and currently work night shift for
Passavant. I love being able to utilize my skills and also give an individual who needs special
care my undivided attention to help in the success of their everyday life skills needed, so they
can accomplish their goals and feel that they are adequate, loved, and recognized in our society
and in the community in which they reside.
