Rapido y furioso
1.
2. Our mission statement
Our goal/aim is to deliver a Formula 1 car of a very high
standard which matches all of the designated
requirements.
To represent our school and Ireland at the world finals
of the Formula 1 in schools competition 2013.
Our vision statement
3. Who are we?
Our name ‘Rapido Y Furioso’ is Spanish for fast and furious.
We came up with this name as we wanted something
original and catchy. We tried to find the Irish for fast and
furious but it didn’t flow as well as it does in Spanish. We
think this name represents our car well as it ties in with
what we would like to achieve, i.e a fast car and also it
works well with our colour scheme.
“No hay I en Equipo”!
5. Our Logo and Colour Scheme
We came up with the
colours Red, Orange and
Black. We chose these
colours because we
want our car to stand
out and we thought
these colours go well
with our name!
6. Sponsors
• Our main sponsor is IT Blanchardstown. We are very grateful
for their generous sponsorship. The money they have given us
has helped us to get our car painted and our uniforms, as well
as transport here today. We have advertised their logo on all
of our equipment.
• We were also sponsored by a local Car Repair Garage in
Celbridge, Colour Crash Car Repair. They offered to paint our
car with our chosen colours for free. We are hugely grateful
for their help and delighted with the result.
11. Marketing
• We have created a Facebook page and a Twitter account to help
promote the competition and our team. We wanted to use these
websites to keep people informed about what was happening with
our car. We have also created a blog, posting our latest news and
information.
• A few weeks ago a few of the team members visited KFM for an
interview. They spoke about the F1 in schools competition and also
talked about our team and what we were doing at the time, they
also discussed our sponsorship. They had a great time and helped
promote the competition to secondary schools in the area.
• We have also gotten an article printed in a local newspaper, The
Liffey Champion about the two groups from our school who
qualified. It was written by one of our classmates who was
interested in the competition and was also doing work experience
in the Liffey Champion.
12. Project and Team Evaluation
• Skills we Learned:
Communication
Confidence
Interpersonal
Patience
Commitment
Solid Works
Microsoft Excel, Word
& PowerPoint
• Challenges we faced:
Finding sponsorship
Coming up with a design that
would have good aerodynamics
Under pressure for time
In the end, however, all
issues were resolved and we
worked together well as a team to
get the project finished on time
and done to the highest possible
standard.
