24. Portrush and Coleraine
were the main areas chosen to hold
a potential urban sports facility.
Portrush was the most
preferable, which was
unsurprising;
the majority of skateboarders
use this area already.

55. We plan to submit an expression of
interest to the
BIG
Space & Place
LOTTERY
fund.
This is an ideal funding opportunity as the
BLF offer technical support as well as the
initial funding.
If our project doesn’t happen to qualify for
funding, they will still assist in the
development plan and feasibility study.
70. Practicalities
Risk of accident on the street course is
very low.
Rubbish is the main risk; skaters will
be educated to take responsibility for
these issues and as can the placing of
spectator seating.
73. Finishing thoughts
We have:
… an incredibly high level of commitment.
… experience with other skate parks.
… success with urban sports events.
… great transport links.
… advice from T13 for the site.
…previous planning for an indoor skate park on
this piece of land.
74. You don’t have to do this for us.
We are keen to work by
ourselves.
75. “Success is the
result of perfection,
hard work, learning
from failure, loyalty,
and persistence.”
