Answering Islam 1
1. Hi Azam,
Thank you for respectfully engaging in conversation.
I disagree with you though (not that my opinion matters) but let us look to the scriptures to be
the final authority:
"In the beginning God [who reveals himself in the Torah and Gospels as a Father] created the
heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep
waters. And the Spirit [the Holy Spirit that is revealed in the Scriptures as well] was hovering
over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” [the eternal Word of God
who we know to be Jesus Christ by Sura 4:171 & Jn 1:1] and there was light. "(Genesis 1:1-3
NLT)
By this we know that God although One is dynamic in form - this is where the concept of trinity
comes from (3 in 1) - One God existent in Father, Holy Spirit, and Son.
How do we know Jesus is not just the eternal Word of God but also has a dynamic relationship
with the Father that makes Him Son?
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son [Jesus], so that everyone
who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NLT)
And again:
"One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River. As
Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit
descending on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son,
and you bring me great joy.” (Mark 1:9-11 NLT)
And again:
"Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.” (Luke 9:35
NLT)
There are many other places too, but this is just some of them.
So it would be better not to impose our opinions on God telling Him what or what not He is but
rather Let His Word speak and tell us who He is.
There scriptures I speak to you are the English equivalent of the original Injil which Mohammed
affirms in Sura 5:
Sura 5:47 "Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any fail to
judge by the light of what Allah has revealed, they are those who have strayed from the right
2. path."
I am only judging by what Allah hath revealed in the Gospels that Mohammed affirmed were not
corrupt in his time.
The scriptures which I speak to you are hundreds of years younger than Mohammed's time -
therefore are accurate and unbroken. Prophet to prophet His words cannot be broken.
When the Quran talks about God not being a Father nor having a Son it means that under SIN
God cannot be a Father or have spiritual sons and daughters because sin separates us from
God. But that is why Jesus came, that is why He died on the cross - to pay for our sins and
reconcile us back to God.
"But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God."
(John 1:12 NLT)
God bless you in your journey!
