Bus based public transport will remain the backbone of publci transport systems. Many cities have large networks and wealth of knowledge to operate them. Modernising city these networks will be a key strategy for ensuring a sustainable transport future. We started BusKaroPlus a peer learning network to exchange and build on best practices.
Pilot Corridor on AB Road in Indore - 12 kms – Work started in 2007 – EMBARQ India has provided technical support to the project since 2008.The system is expected to carry 35,000 passengers per day.
500 Billion USD of private sector investment will go to urban transport over the next 20 years.
Most ofthese start-ups / young companies will need early stage business support, finance to scale up and the risk will be regulatory barriers encountered as they scale up.
