0. Tell me about yourself
First of all, I would like to thank you for the opportunity given to me to
speak in front of you today, my name is arry pratama putra, my friends usually
call me arry. I was born in Duri ( Riau ).I am the oldest son in my family, I have 1
sister and 2 brothers. I took my study from the kindergarten to high school in
duri and after I graduated from high school, I went to Jakarta to continue my
study in universitas trisakti for mechanical engineer.
In 2012, I was accepted as a practical trainee at PT.Chevron Pacific
Indonesia in Drilling Department for 1 month. I learn a lot about the basic of
drilling technology. In 2013, I have graduated from Universitas Trisakti for
bachelor of engineering in Mehcanical engineer Study Program and I achieved
the award of the best graduate in the 2013 second period of graduation for
mechanical engineering study program.
I am now currently working as a piping engineer in PT.DSME Indonesia since
January 2014.
1. What do you know about schlumberger ?
Schlumberger is the world’s largest oilfield services company. Working
globally—often in remote and challenging locations. Employing approximately

At Schlumberger there is a lot of growth potential. It force you to
learn as much as you can as quickly as you can therefore learning a
lot about the industry very quickly

4. What if you are assigned in the remote area for 3 years ?
I will be grateful. Working in remote areas are very challenging. And I can have a
lot of new adventure in my life. Not all of people can work and willing to work
under pressure. But for my self, I want to work in that condition, because I can
learn a lot of new things. We need to get out from our comfort zone to learn
something more.

Yes I am ready so that is why I apply for the position of a field engineer.
6. Which segments are you going to be fit in ?
I can fit my self in as a field engineer in any segments. Because I am ready to
learn about everything in schlumberger.
7. What is a field engineer ?
Field engineer are on the front line, the jobside leaders who is involved in
every phase of the business. Field engineers are focused on delivering service
excellence no matter what the conditions. They represent our company by
interacting with customers and delivering front line technical services and
solutions.
8.Can you tell me about your final exam ?
In this final assignment discussed the structure analysis on the boom. Boom is a
foundation formed a letter A that is used to hold the load incurred on the water
vacuum pump in mining areas.
Boom often experience plastic deformation that can affect the performance of the
water vacuum pump in mining areas. In this analysis , Boom will be re-designed using
the software named AUTODESK Inventor 2013 Student Version.
By making the initial design to the analysis, it will note the location of the point on
the critical point due to the load boom is received of 6000 N with inclination of 45 °.
It can be concluded that in order to prevent the occurrence of plastic deformation is
suggested to redesign A Structure models that can better withstand the load so that
the stress happens is not too large. Given this design, the water suction pump land
mines will not be hampered in their work.

Drilling is a process to make an oil well.
What do you know about DT&R?
First of all, DT&R stands for Drilling Tools & Remedial, that provides a
range of :
1. bottom hole assembly (BHA) drilling tools
2. borehole enlargement technologies (underreamer)
3. impact tools
5. Abandonment
6. and fishing services.
1. BHA
A Bottom hole assembly (BHA) is a component of a drilling rig.
It is the lower part of the drill string, extending from the bit to
the drill pipe. The assembly can consist of drill collars,
stabilizers, reamers and the drill bit sub and drill bit.
-Drill collars : provides weight on bit (WOB) for drilling
-Stabilizer : stabilize the BHA in the borehole in order to avoid
unintentional sidetracking, vibrations, and ensure the quality of
the hole being drilled
-Reamers : tool used in drilling to smooth the wall of a well and enlarge
the hole
-Bit sub : a tools that connect the drill bit to the next
equipment in BHA
-Drill bit : is a cutting tools that make the hole
2. Borehole enlargement technology
BHE tool is one that can expand a borehole beyond the diameter
at which it can pass through. Its create a borehole larger than the
inner diameter of the casing already in place.
5. 3. Impact tools
Impact tools is used to give high force and shock. One of the impact
tools that I know Is a jar. Jar is used when stuck happen in the process
of drilling.
2.1.Underreaming
underreaming is a process to increase the diameter of the hole
without running a full gauge tool into the hole. It is hydraulically
operated. As the pump pressure increases, a piston inside is
driven down, thus forcing three arms with cones to extend. With
arms extended, the hole can be opened to the designated size.
5. Abandoments : A well is abandoned when it reaches the end of its
useful life or is a dry hole. Cement plugs are placed in the borehole to
prevent migration of fluids between the different formations.
6. Fishing services : the procedure of recovering lost or stuck equipment
in the wellbore. Lost or stuck equipment can be anything from a piece of
scrap metal to a part of the drill stem, and must be recovered before work
can proceed.
Wellbore departure : A system and method facilitate drilling of lateral
wellbores by optionally eliminating one or more trips downhole. The system
and method provide for drilling a lateral wellbore by enabling the milling of a
casing window and the drilling of the desired lateral wellbore to a target depth
during a single trip down hole. The system and method also facilitate better
downhole dynamics control and improved overall bottom hole assembly
functionality during drilling.
6. Firstlaw : The increase in internal energy of a closed system is
equal to the difference of the heat supplied to the system and
the work done by it: ΔU = Q – W
Secondlaw: Heat cannot spontaneously flow from a colder
location to a hotter location.
Thirdlaw: As a system approaches absolute zero the entropy of
the system approaches a minimum value.
