2. Objective is to discuss some magical Tips &
Tricks which are very useful in reducing the
time of various mathematical calculations.
Using these tools one can simplify the
calculations magically.These tips comes from
vedic mathematics.
Moreover , the discussion of these Tips &
Tricks before the students at initial stage, can
motivate their interest towards mathematics.
So, these tips should be known to all.
3. How to square a given number ?
Squaring a number ending with 5 ?
Squaring a number having only 9’s ?
Squaring a number having only 1’s ?
Squaring any number ?
Relation between the squares of two consecutive numbers ?
How to multiply any two numbers ?
To multiply a given number by 11 ?
To multiply the numbers whose decimal digits
are same and unit’s digit sum is 10 ?
To multiply any two numbers ?
12. Formula: (AB)² =
(Transfer carry to the left, if required. Second and third box will
contain only single digit no.)
Ex-1: (32)² =?
(32)² =
Ans:1024
A² 2AB B²
3²=9
2x3x2
=12
2²=4
+
10 2 4
14. Let A²=X (given no.)
Then (A+1)² =X+(2A+1)
And (A-1)² = X-(2A-1)
Example-
Let (35)² =1225(given)
Aim: To find (36)²=? (consecutive of 35 are 34 and 36)
And (34) ²=?
We know (36)² >(35) ²
or (36) ²=(35) ² +
Now
?
35+36
=71
17. Rule 1: ( For a two digit no.) Separate the the given
nos. by a single digit space, then fill up the space by
the sum of the two digits. Add carry to the next left
no., if any.
Rule 2: (For the no. of more than two digits) First of
all, write the last digit. Then start adding two
consecutive nos. of the given no., write unit no. of
result. and transfer the carry to the next no., if any.
21. Ex-1: 73x77=?
Here Decimal digits are same( since both are 7).
Unit’s digit sum=3+7=10.
For getting the Answer:
•Multiply 7 by it’s next consecutive no. 8, we get 56.
•Multiply the unit’s i.e. (3x7), we get 21.
•Put both result simultaneously. i.e. 5621,which is the
required Answer.
22. Here decimal digits of both nos. are same, & sum
of the units is also 10. so we proceed as follows:
Ans: 2016
4 2
4 8
+
1
5
1620
23. Formula: ABxCD=?
(second and third
Boxes contains
Only single digit.
So transfer carry to
the left ,if required.)
