Who are WE?
The Four Steps Programme
As a Non Profit Organization, Ankur Pratishthan has been
relentlessly working towards the overall development of a
destitute children living in Orphanages. We have our strategic
alliances with orphanages across Mumbai City and Extended
Suburbs. Our methodology involves implementation of
module-based assessments and several innovative indoor as
well as outdoor activities, which are instrumental in shaping
the overall development of the child. Our Primary objective
is to Identify the suppressed abilities of the teenagers and
help them master those using out tried and tested innovative
activities. The entire Development Cycle is aimed at helping the
destitute child have a smooth transition into the mainstream
world. A Four Step module has been devised by us after a
lot of Research & Development activities. This indigenous
module offers Tracking stage wise/step wise performance,
Development stage and Supplementary action that provides
an End to End solution keeping in mind the outside world.
The Four Step Programme has been the product of
extensive research which involved participation of conclave
of experts. This was later approved after a pilot on one
of the orphanages in Mumbai gave positive results.
The stages of the programme are Talent Identification,
Personality Grooming, Individual Development Programme
& Youth Livelihood Programme. The beneficiaries under the
programme are selected while they are in the age group of
8-14 and are exposed to a wide variety of workshops across
multiple verticals like arts, sports, academics, vocational
training etc. The workshops serve as an incubator for talent
identification.

The children undergo training program under the guidance of volunteers and experts in those specific field. Their performance at the
competitive stage serves as the first data point of mapping their progress of the craft. This juncture provides for course correction
as well as furthering the child into institutions that will further hone the skill level of the child into that craft. The conclusion of the
programme lies in not just making the child employable, but actually helping the child achieve employment and provide conducive
support for him to enable multitudes of other children.
Our Partners
Anubhooti 2019
Ankur Pratishthan used a unique blend of parameters while selecting centers to run the internship program. Among them are,
the target beneficiary population under the selected age group at various children homes, the availability and commitment of
time given by these institutions to Ankur Pratishthan and the promise of a long term commitment for the beneficiaries with
a dynamic focus on the development of the child.

while empowering them with the idea that they could be the change makers in the lives of these children. Almost 50 interns
from 05 colleges within Mumbai were selected through multiple screenings to participate in this programme. The project was
run in 06 Orphanages scattered throughout Mumbai & Navi Mumbai.
Themes, Sub-themes and Activities:
‘360° Development’ was decided as the central theme of the programme.
The four sub-themes selected under the programme were
Creativity
Decision
Making
General
Awareness
Concentration
The interns delivered the content based on these sub-themes, after a rigorous orientation, through dynamic
activities such as Story Narration, Group Songs, Strategy Based Games and Activities at the core of the

Programme Training
Project Anubhooti kicked off with an intensive and thorough
orientation-training workshop for the interns. Experts from
various fields shared the same podium to impart their valuable
experience and guidance to the interns. The workshop
featured sessions throwing insights into child psychology,
child engagement, and development of activities according
to the thematic structure of the program. The interns were
also given a glimpse of practical engagement through role-
plays, videos and were also made to conduct mock activity
sessions. The training of the programme was to develop
collective decision-making and bring out a synergy from
the existing talent pool of interns. The interns were enabled
to think and design the activities with a ‘Learn with fun’
perspective.

Programme Results
Intern Perspective
The module based activity designing helped the interns
to research, understand and design activities for the
beneficiaries in a record short time. It was noted that the
time spent on research by the interns over the course of the
programme dropped by over a quarter and simultaneously
the amount of time spent on improvement of the delivery for
activities was seen to go up by more than a third.
Centre Perspective
The beneficiary engagement and willful participation period
which was initially recorded at an under 50% of the entire
duration of the session was seen to have increased to cover
the entire session. The structure of the activities was defined
such to focus on the development of core personality of
the beneficiary leading to identification of special talent of
the beneficiary and further grooming. Interns were able to
evaluate at least 2 areas of key interest per beneficiary on an
average.

Gigantic Beginning!!
There is an imperative/Critical need to Discuss and Debate Sensitive issues like Concerns of
the destitute (Orphan) in social & open forums. Exposure of the ground realities concerning
a destitute (orphan) to today’s youth (college going youth) in itself reflects the success of this
Internship Program commenced by Ankur Prathisthan. This is just a beginning, and your bond with
this sensitive issue should only continue to get bigger in the near future.
Shri. Pravin Ghuge
Chairman, State Commission of Protection of Child Rights
You have Ticked the Correct Boxes!
Being a Teenager or a Youth is the time when one is moldable. His/Her immediate future is defined
and channelized by the kind of company one keeps and the options decided. I was fortunate and
blessed to be part of such an initiative, which is now a trend. Going ahead, I have made up my
mind to latch on to every such opportunity.
Shri. Sanchit Yadav
Film Writer, Producer & Director.
Let’s Eradicate Orphanism!
Indian History is rich with Orphans who have made it big with their sheer ability to conquer
problems. Samrat Bharat, Sita Devi, Shri Krishna, Rishi Ved Vyas, Sant Dnyaneshwar etc. are just
a few examples out of plenty. Let us torch the flames of similar passion and dedication in these
destitute children.

Mastering the Art of Anger Management & Effective Delivery
Got into the habbit of controlling my anger by mental preparation which helped a lot while interacting with
the destitutes. Secondly, very closely experienced the advantages of going prepared for any activity. Thos
helped me in my delivery and had a positive impact on them. This innovative initiative, Anoobhuti, by Ankur
Pratishthan has helped me upscale in Anger Management and Effective Delivery!

Sowing the Seeds of Social Service!
Doing something or Helping the needy. Wherever I have used Oblique (/) sign, it only suggests that, we
need to use any one from the options given itself is a Nobel and Social idea. We participated in this unique
internship program as we wanted to sow the seeds of social service in our students at this apt age. Their
feedback has only motivated us to be a part of such unique social activities round the year and every year.
– Prof. Minal Mapuskar
Long Lasting Impact!
Volunteers of Ankur Pratishthan have been dedicatedly and religiously spending
their precious time with our NGO. Along with them, the college students who volunteered under the unique
and flagship program - Anubhooti, also assisted us. They not only worked on the overall development of
the destitute kids but also channelised their thoughts. These small steps have a long lasting impact and
we are happy to welcome them again in the near future.
- Samhita Sonkar (Managing Trustee, Maze Maher, Kalachowki)
Exposure to Mass Psychology!
While we were all Gung-Ho equipped with our creative activities during intership,
we soon realized that the audience was a bit different from what we had anticipated. While the Destitute
Girls only wanted to break free from all the social shackles and Enjoy & Live every moment, they also
wanted to absorb new things at the same time. This is where we learnt how to mold and improvise with our
activities. This also helped us understand certain ways through which groups can be manned and desired
goal could be achieved.

There is an imperative/Critical need to Discuss and Debate Sensitive issues like Concerns of the destitute (Orphan) in social & open forums. Exposure of the ground realities concerning a destitute (orphan) to today’s youth (college going youth) in itself reflects the success of this Internship Program commenced by Ankur Prathisthan. This is just a beginning, and your bond with this sensitive issue should only continue to get bigger in the near future. Shri. Pravin Ghuge Chairman, State Commission of Protection of Child Rights You have Ticked the Correct Boxes! Being a Teenager or a Youth is the time when one is moldable. His/Her immediate future is defined and channelized by the kind of company one keeps and the options decided. I was fortunate and blessed to be part of such an initiative, which is now a trend. Going ahead, I have made up my mind to latch on to every such opportunity. Shri. Sanchit Yadav Film Writer, Producer & Director. Let’s Eradicate Orphanism! Indian History is rich with Orphans who have made it big with their sheer ability to conquer problems. Samrat Bharat, Sita Devi, Shri Krishna, Rishi Ved Vyas, Sant Dnyaneshwar etc. are just a few examples out of plenty. Let us torch the flames of similar passion and dedication in these destitute children. Shri. Prashant Hartalkar (Senior Social Worker)

This innovative initiative, Anoobhuti, by Ankur Pratishthan has helped me upscale in Anger Management and Effective Delivery! - Gajanan Patkar, Student Sowing the Seeds of Social Service! Doing something or Helping the needy. Wherever I have used Oblique (/) sign, it only suggests that, we need to use any one from the options given itself is a Nobel and Social idea. We participated in this unique internship program as we wanted to sow the seeds of social service in our students at this apt age. Their feedback has only motivated us to be a part of such unique social activities round the year and every year. – Prof. Minal Mapuskar Long Lasting Impact! Volunteers of Ankur Pratishthan have been dedicatedly and religiously spending their precious time with our NGO. Along with them, the college students who volunteered under the unique and flagship program - Anubhooti, also assisted us. They not only worked on the overall development of the destitute kids but also channelised their thoughts. These small steps have a long lasting impact and we are happy to welcome them again in the near future. - Samhita Sonkar (Managing Trustee, Maze Maher, Kalachowki) Exposure to Mass Psychology! While we were all Gung-Ho equipped with our creative activities during intership, we soon realized that the audience was a bit different from what we had anticipated. While the Destitute Girls only wanted to break free from all the social shackles and Enjoy & Live every moment, they also wanted to absorb new things at the same time. This is where we learnt how to mold and improvise with our activities. This also helped us understand certain ways through which groups can be manned and desired goal could be achieved. – Dhanashree Ranadive, Student Cer ficate Distribu on Ceremony
