also maintains membership with the Atlanta
Economics Club (AEC), which supports new careers in
economics through the Joseph K. Heyman Scholarship.
Since its establishment in 1992, the Joseph K. Heyman
Scholarship has presented approximately $23,000 to
more than 30 scholarship winners and runner-ups.
Named for the founder and first president of the AEC,
the scholarship celebrates outstanding academic
performance in economics.
3. Eligible applicants include students at
metropolitan Atlanta colleges and universities at
the undergraduate and graduate levels.
To be considered, applicants must submit an
application to AEC before the deadline for the
intended academic year. Application requirements
consist of a completed application form, faculty
letter of recommendation, and an essay describing
the applicant’s proposed study and career plans.
