Employee dismissal: It is termination of the services of an employee to give punishment for
his/her misconduct in the organization.
Employee discharge: It is termination of the services/contract by notice or payment of
wages in lieu of notice of the employee but it is not done for punishment purpose, but
because of business conditions, terms of separation.
The differences between them are given below:

Supply chain management is basically the flows of goods and services from input to output
stage by transforming raw-materials into final products or services. It involves streamlining
of supply – side activities for maximizing customer values and gaining competitive
advantages.
Two ways through which business organizations can improve are:
I. Identification of process stakeholders and working on each step.
II. Identification and use of relevant technology to facilitate the process

I. Corporate social responsibility:
Answer: It is management concept in which companies align social and environmental
concerns in their business operation and interactions with their stakeholders generally those
who are affected more. It is generally understood as being the way through which a company
achieves a balance of economic, environment and social aspects with reference to their
business.
II. Business Environment:
Answer: It is an overall picture of internal and external factors which affect the business such
as employees, customer’s needs and wants, supply and demand, client suppliers, owners,
regulators and activities by government, innovation and technology, social trends, market
trends and economic etc.
Q5. How should business organization deal with ethical issues? (Mark 5)
Answer: The business organization should deal with ethical issues by the following
activities:
I. Identifying and understanding the issue in the context.
II. Comparing the issue to specific rules in code of ethics as per organization’s rule.

IV. Identifying what is in control and what is not?
V. Making a plan that you can be defended professionally and ethically and that meets

Answer: Workforce diversity is about similarities and differences among employees in terms

challenging to organization as well, as its employees. The management needs to train its

Answer: Social media is rapidly growing and being popular, not only among kids and
youths, but also among elderly people. Most of the kids and youths are being addicted to
various social media platforms, causing serious effects on both mental and physical health,
work and family environments, studies, professional aspects. Physical activities are no more
their interest areas. Many incidences of eye-sight problem, headache, gut-problems are
reported, on extreme side, even depressions and suicide cases are also on record.
Though the name is “social media” it actually turns people to become more unsocial,
unrealistic, in terms of facing the life challenges. Their lives roam around, how many people
liked their posts shared their posts etc. They generate competition, ego and various other
emotions which keep on accumulating and touching them. They themselves become loner,
and at the same time, make their loved one, and at the same time, make their loved ones feel
lonely, despite they are staying together.
Having pointed out the darker side of social media, we should not forget that it has many
good points as well. This platform has bought people closer, which other-wise was not
possible. It has so many useful news at your finger-tips. It tells about a lot of required
information. Moreover, it has generated huge employment opportunities, business
opportunities, and so on.
In conclusion, what we can say is, it is a great innovation with great purpose. The issue is
how consciously we use it, weather we command it, or we let it command us, our time, our
thought processes, our emotions, our relationships, and what not! It is always useful if we use
it for our benefit without being its slave, rather, wisely mastering this technology, this
platform to serve our needs.
