Have you ever thought about scaling Scrum? Scrum is nice and beautiful framework for one team - a team that is working closely together, is self-managing, cross-functional with T-shaped competences and has shared responsibility for team’s work. But what if you want more of this beauty? How should you scale? I will explain basics behind Scrum scaling framework called LeSS (Large Scale Scrum) and share some experience about implementing it. Kārlis is Scrum Master at Tieto for almost 2 years now and has been participating in implementing LeSS in Tieto Retail Payments and Cards from the start. He also has over 10 years of experience in the role of project manager. Kārlis is passionate about hiking in mountains, running and having a long sleep on Saturday mornings.

• This model is
• It is characterized by:
• not optimized for value, but for busyness.
• Many or most working on no value adding items (extreme inefficiency)

• Nobody sees the whole, the big picture
• It is important to understand that Scrum is not possible for component
team. That would be fake Scrum – without addressing main issues.

Meeting this increased demand for SaaS triggered a major shift within HP SW development groups and HP SaaS operations group to not only modernize our products and offering but also to modernized the way we develop, test, deploy and operate our software in a SaaS model by moving to DevOps. In this session we will discuss how HPSW Dev and Ops joined forces to establish the right methodologies, processes and technologies to build a true DevOPs delivery model that is aligned across HP SW, starting with Agile Manager, our first true SaaS product and continuing with traditional products like Quality Center. Today in SaaS for Agile Manager we have 4 farms located over 3 locations (3 regions – AMS, EMEA, APJ). We have more than 120 customers and over 6000 of users login each day to our systems with over 1000 active tenants. We have bi-weekly pushes and Quarterly major releases, comprehensive monitoring processes and extensive implementation of HP monitoring tools. Over 4000 tickets handled by both Operations and R&D.

And too often, we as developers (who love to solve problems by coding) fall into the trap of believing the only way to fix it is by rewriting everything again and again. The main topic of this talk is a short introduction to Storybook.js, JavaScript library that allows us to create independent and interactive UX components from already existing ones, developed in frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue. Reusing the components, we create an isolated environment that can be shared within the organization and enable a collaboration between designers and developers on a whole new level. Being the most certified Magento agency in the world Scandiweb wanted to make something that is both compatible with default Magneto, but also easier to use and faster. So this is a story of looking at competitors and finding our niche as well as building on experience gained by creating solutions for the world’s top brands. The talk will share approaches investigated and selected and look into tips and tricks used to get out most of React, Webpack, Mobx and other cool frontend tools.
