ABSTRACT
AMD has truly exceeded the performance expectations in the wireless display market. With a standards
compliant protocol, the AMD Wireless Display solution consistently achieves end-to-end latency better than
competitive solutions and as much as 3x to 4x lower than the competition. The AWD architecture is fully
integrated into AMD’s graphics driver resulting in a seamless user experience where the remote display
appears to be ‘wired’. This is the industry’s first Miracast Wireless Display source, leveraging internal WiFi
module, capable of ‘first person shooter GAMING’! At full HD 1080P resolution! And to top it off, AWD uses
virtually zero CPU cycles or GPU cycles … your machine is still your machine!

Wi-Fi Considerations for Platforms

For full 1080p HD wireless display optimal experience:
 2x2 Dual-band 802.11n. Required for full 1080p HD performance (highest quality and range).
– Provides better video streaming and wireless display experience for consumer in more diverse operating conditions
due to higher bit rate and increased range of operation from Access Point and TV, and reduced interference on 5GHz
band. Requirement for Premium platforms.
 DualBand 5GHz operation provides 22 non-overlapping channels vs. SingleBand 2.4GHz only provides three non-overlapping
channels)
 Higher throughput at longer ranges than 1x1

For 720p or 1080p wireless display at reduced performance:
 1X1 Single-band 802.11n.
– For 720p or 1080p at reduced quality and range, 1x1 single-band 802.11n can be used, for example in value SKUs.
 SB 2.4GHz is more susceptible to interference, and lower quality due to fewer channels and more crowding on existing channels.
 Lower throughput than 2x2
 Can be acceptable with above limitations disclosed and consumer option to upgrade to 2x2 for “optimal” performance.

AMD Screen Mirror is designed to enable the transmission and display of your PC screen on other compatible networked "mirror" devices. Only
available on select AMD A-Series APU-based tablets and notebooks. Compatible Digital Media Renderer (DMR) devices are listed on the Digital
Living Network Alliance (DLNA) website (http://www.dlna.org/consumer-home/look-for-dlna/product-search) with the “'Play To' Receiver”
feature and must also include H.264 and AAC support. Both PC and DMR device must be connected to a network that will permit content
streaming. AMD Screen Mirror supports almost all popular image, audio and video file formats as well as applications showing on your PC screen,
but will not mirror protected content. Requires minimum screen resolution of 800x600. Performance may be degraded on networks with limited
bandwidth, especially with high definition content.

AMD Wireless Display technology provides the ability to wirelessly display local screen content onto a remote screen with low latency and
automatic upscaling of videos and graphics. AMD Wireless Display technology is enabled on select systems with AMD APUs and requires
Windows 8 and Wi-Fi certified Miracast™ receiver equipment. Confirm capabilities with system manufacturer before purchase.

AMD Steady Video is a technology designed to eliminate shakes and jitters during the playback of home video. Users may turn on this technology
via the AMD Catalyst Control Center™ or the VISION Engine Control Center application. AMD Steady Video will work with content that can run on
Adobe® Flash® Player 10.2 (and later versions) or on any player which has been programed to use AMD’s decode acceleration (DXVA) engine.
AMD Steady Video is not designed to (a) isolate overlays, logos or captions, or (b) improve the playback of letter boxed, premium/commercial, or
interlaced content. AMD Steady Video is only recommended for use with videos that contain unwanted shakes and jitters.

AMD Quick Stream is a technology designed to prioritize video streaming over other activities requiring Internet bandwidth for a smooth,
uninterrupted video stream. AMD Quick Stream technology is available on select PCs and requires Windows®7. Not all features may be supported
on all systems. Check with your system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies.

Intel WiDi has up to 3X worse latency than AMD Wireless Display. Choose AMD Wireless Display for the best user experience! Testing conducted
by AMD Performance Labs. PC manufacturers may vary configuration yielding different results. The 2013 AMD A10 “Richland” platform showed
latency using AMD Wireless Display of approximately 60 milliseconds (60ms) while the Intel WiDi system showed 201ms. Test used was a
browser based stopwatch showing the time difference between the PC screen and display. Systems used were an ASUS N56DY with the AMD A85550M APU with Radeon(tm) HD 8550G Graphics, 2x2048 MBytes of DDR3-800.0 MHz (PC3-12800) RAM, Microsoft Windows 8 Professional
(x64) Build 9200; a LENOVO ThinkPad X230 with Intel Core(TM) i7-3520M CPU @ 2.90GHz with Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics, 2x2048 MB
DDR3-800.0 MHz (PC3-12800) RAM, Microsoft Windows 8 Professional (x64) Build 9200. Both platforms used the Netgear PTV3000 to connect to
the HDTVs. RIN-26

Required for full 1080p HD performance (highest quality and range). – Provides better video streaming and wireless display experience for consumer in more diverse operating conditions due to higher bit rate and increased range of operation from Access Point and TV, and reduced interference on 5GHz band. Only available on select AMD A-Series APU-based tablets and notebooks. Compatible Digital Media Renderer (DMR) devices are listed on the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) website (http://www.dlna.org/consumer-home/look-for-dlna/product-search) with the “'Play To' Receiver” feature and must also include H.264 and AAC support. Both PC and DMR device must be connected to a network that will permit content streaming. AMD Screen Mirror supports almost all popular image, audio and video file formats as well as applications showing on your PC screen, but will not mirror protected content. Requires minimum screen resolution of 800x600. Performance may be degraded on networks with limited bandwidth, especially with high definition content. 2. AMD Wireless Display technology provides the ability to wirelessly display local screen content onto a remote screen with low latency and automatic upscaling of videos and graphics. AMD Wireless Display technology is enabled on select systems with AMD APUs and requires Windows 8 and Wi-Fi certified Miracast™ receiver equipment. Confirm capabilities with system manufacturer before purchase. 3. AMD Steady Video is a technology designed to eliminate shakes and jitters during the playback of home video. Users may turn on this technology via the AMD Catalyst Control Center™ or the VISION Engine Control Center application. AMD Steady Video will work with content that can run on Adobe® Flash® Player 10.2 (and later versions) or on any player which has been programed to use AMD’s decode acceleration (DXVA) engine. AMD Steady Video is not designed to (a) isolate overlays, logos or captions, or (b) improve the playback of letter boxed, premium/commercial, or interlaced content. AMD Steady Video is only recommended for use with videos that contain unwanted shakes and jitters. 4. AMD Quick Stream is a technology designed to prioritize video streaming over other activities requiring Internet bandwidth for a smooth, uninterrupted video stream. AMD Quick Stream technology is available on select PCs and requires Windows®7. Not all features may be supported on all systems. Check with your system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies. 5. Intel WiDi has up to 3X worse latency than AMD Wireless Display. Choose AMD Wireless Display for the best user experience! Testing conducted by AMD Performance Labs. PC manufacturers may vary configuration yielding different results. The 2013 AMD A10 “Richland” platform showed latency using AMD Wireless Display of approximately 60 milliseconds (60ms) while the Intel WiDi system showed 201ms. Test used was a browser based stopwatch showing the time difference between the PC screen and display. Systems used were an ASUS N56DY with the AMD A85550M APU with Radeon(tm) HD 8550G Graphics, 2x2048 MBytes of DDR3-800.0 MHz (PC3-12800) RAM, Microsoft Windows 8 Professional (x64) Build 9200; a LENOVO ThinkPad X230 with Intel Core(TM) i7-3520M CPU @ 2.90GHz with Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics, 2x2048 MB DDR3-800.0 MHz (PC3-12800) RAM, Microsoft Windows 8 Professional (x64) Build 9200.
