SRISHTIHI RAMANIYA:
‘NATURE IN ME, I IN NATURE’

             THE PSBB MILLENNIUM SCHOOL,
          COIMBATORE
STEP 1: FEEL
In today’s world, there is transgression. Humankind has
forgotten what it is to be grateful. We take too many things for
granted.

Our mission:
To drive home the message-

‘REVERE NATURE, FOR NATURE DOES NOT BELONG TO
HUMANKIND, BUT WE, BELONG TO NATURE.’

STEP 2: IMAGINE:
Our guests and awareness extended to:
Parents, other schools and children

We brainstormed on:
 • What REALLY is NATURE?
 • What are her various forms?
 • How is she a spiritual balm?
 • How does she play a role in the human body?
 • How is she being disrespected today?
 • In what way can we reach out to people making them
revere her OF THEIR OWN ACCORD?
DO:

Solutions we came up with:

  • Model display sections
  • Charts and posters
  • Banners and slogans,
  • Role plays and explanations on the elements of nature
  • Dance, yoga, aerobics- all depicting unity among elements

  • A ‘Wealth from waste’ section to display handicrafts of
children which boycotted the use of plastics, paper and
    animal skin.

  • Bookmarks which carried slogans on nature made by
children were given away as ‘Thank you for visiting us’
    mementos..

SRISHTIHI RAMANIYA: THE PSBB MILLENNIUM PERSONIFIES
‘PRAKRITI’

‘A line is a dot that goes for a walk.’ The first dot-the inception point on
the ‘rekha’ that the PSBB Millennium School, Coimbatore has set out to draw for
itself is sure to survive the worst ink. On the 17th and 18th of September, The PSBB
Millennium, Coimbatore, took this calm city through a nostalgic nature yatra.
Gracing the occasion were the Dean and Director of the PSBB group of schools,
Dr.Mrs.Y.G.Parthasarathy, and Mr.Y.G.Rajendra. Srishtihi Ramaniya: Beautiful
Nature-The harbinger of harmony, was revered, revisited, and rediscovered, in all
her naked splendour. The students from Pre KG to Std V participated in the
events. The irradiant incarnation of nature that the students succeeded in
creating, stood supreme and strong as it leapt from form to form switching
‘roopams’ among the five ‘Panchabhootas’- the round and beautiful Earth:
‘Prithvi Gandham’; the fresh and fragrant air-‘Vaayu Sparsham’; the all-cleansing
and chaste water: ‘Jal Vishwadhara’; the flaming and feisty fire: ‘Tejas Roopam’;
and the expansive and evanescent ether: ‘Akasha Shabdam.’ The take home
message was clear: encroaching upon the farther end of the horizon of nature is
something more powerful and divine: spirituality-the inward journey. The earth
represents our stability, dignity, respect, and acceptance of self. Air is freedom,
contact and movement. It has no restrain. Water refreshes. It cools. It is emotion.
It is mysterious. Fire is our desire. Our righteous anger. Our energy, our hope.
Ether-the ingress into the world of oblivion. The meeting point of all forces. The
world of calmness. Of serenity. Of peace.

Models, charts, role plays, aerobics, were in plentiful. The language department-
Hindi, Tamil and English held a separate display section. Nature and ‘health’-an
aerobics and yoga event were the Physical Education department at their best. A
‘wealth from waste’ section displayed all hand made articles of the students
prepared from waste, for example: bookmarks, greeting cards, vegetable peel,
paper bags, etc. ‘Go-green,’ ‘Ban plastics,’ ‘Use bicycles,’ ‘Conserve water,’ ‘save
tigers,’ were a few amongst the several logos children adorned. The Kindergarten
students hosted a commendable ‘Fire Drill’- fire incident and precaution
awareness programme. A dance was staged to depict the synchronous swerving
of the five elements and their inter-dependence on each other, leaving the
audience enthralled. The ‘sound and light’ show- ‘Nature in me, I in nature’ was
hosted in perfect darkness-representing the primal motive forces through only
soothing sound and light and was the perfect balm to all our convoluted senses.

A two day event filled life and activity, visited by a host of parents, teachers and
outsiders shows that the school has embarked upon its journey in pursuit of
unrestrained knowledge and spreading awareness, bearing in mind our Dean’s
message that we would strive towards the attainment of AIR- Accountability,
Integrity and Responsibility. Our Headmistress, Mrs.Hemalatha Seshadri was very
happy with all the teachers for their tireless and dedicated effort.
