I had the opportunity to work very closely with Mr. Schmitt during the last couple of years of his
service here at Chrysler while he has served as the head Tool Engineer in the 8 speed
transmission Assembly. Derek has excelled in this role and maintained one of the highest levels
of productivity. Derek was essential in driving engineering improvements as meet production
goals in a vertical launch of a new transmission while maintaining high standards for quality and
accuracy.
Derek possesses the ultimate "can do" attitude while taking on all tasks with a positive energy
and a smile. His upbeat personality and engaging personal style enables him to interact
effectively with the teams and management group. Derek is very well organized and keeps track
of the details necessary to coordinate projects and production improvements.
Mr. Schmitt takes initiative to go beyond the expected parameters of his job. All the intangibles
