Medical Officer includes all classes of positions the duties of which are to advise on, administer, supervise, or perform professional and scientific work in one or more fields of medicine. Positions are classifiable to this series when the nature of duties and responsibilities is such that the degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy is a fundamental requirement. In India, performance and quality of health system in rural areas is significantly dependent on ANMs, the multipurpose extension health workers who works at the interface between the community and public health system.  Several studies have however shown that ANMs are often not available to the communities they are supposed to serve and do not perform their roles and responsibilities for which they have been selected.
1.Women with rural background should be preferred in selection given the fact that they are more likely to reside in the villages.   2.Women having good proficiency on regional language for better communication among community and   3.
