2. NOTES
Consider the following BEFORE completing the checklist as you are providing a warranty to the developer, Slide:
• Check all your facts – and document where possible, citing sources etc.
• Is it ethical (have you considered the ethical issues involved)?
Does it feel right?
The game feels right as it was intended to be like this in terms of: Gameplay, graphics and mechanics.
How would you feel if you saw a review of your game reported in a newspaper, magazine or online?
It would solely depend on what sort of things the publisher may talk about the game. If the publisher were to criticize the game in anyway, would be
professional about it and explain to the best of our abilities to give a justified answer however, if they were to talk about the game in a positive way, we
would feel accomplished and please with ourselves as to how good the game has done.
How would you feel about your peers, friends, family knowing about it?
I would feel very proud and confident knowing that my friends & family knew that I had helped with creating a game that has possibly done either good or
bad. Either way if it were good or bad, they would feel proud of what I have accomplished.
Is your idea compromising anyone’s confidentiality?
Our game/idea isn’t really compromising anyone’s confidentiality as we haven’t include things such as images or names that may danger their identity in any
way possible.
How does your concept challenge issues of decency and the representation of race, gender, religion, sexuality etc?
Our game doesn’t promote any sort of indecent content that could be racial, sexuality, gender or religion as this sort of content being shown to people is
really harmful to people; this could go against peoples beliefs and they may proceed into legal action as the game may be unethical.
• Is it legal?
Do you have the right to use the media and equipment you are using to create your prototype?
Yes. As the creator/developer of the game, we have access to many pieces of equipment which have helped us create this game; the game will be suffice
and will try our best to give the best possible experience for a game. In terms of media, we can use this to our advantage as we can advertise our game on
many different websites and social media sites; this will help us promote our game. We would need a decent amount of money to pay for an advertisement
but, should indirectly help us with the game sales as customers will be buying the game.
Does it comply with rules, policies, standards and contracts imposed by relevant regulators/bodies?
Yes it does as we have to follow the rules of many regulatory bodies such as PEGI (Pan European Game Institution) which state that you shouldn’t really
include any content that may harmful to gamers; this could be done but they would have to give the game an age rating of18 which will only allow customers
of this age or above to by the game. Besides mentioning the above about PEGI and their age rating system, this shouldn’t really be a problem for us as we are
not really implementing these sorts of harmful themes.
Does it infringe anyone else’s intellectual property rights?
No as we are not using anyone else’s content in any way possible as all of our intellectual property is being implemented within our game that we have
3. created ourselves, as using other developers intellectual property it is illegal as this should be created & Implemented by themselves, not taking property
from others.
