2. CCDP is an engineering company based in Reggio Emilia, dates back to 1977 and today the second
generation of professionals is involved in it..
The Company covers all sectors of activity, from the smaller to the larger design scale, for both
public and private clients:
• urban planning; town planning schemes (PRG), strategic and structural planning (PSC),
municipal operative plans (POC)
• small scale urban planning (master plans, detailed area plans, both residential and
industrial, renewal/regeneration plans)
• infrastructures (roads and infrastructure works…)
• engineering (earthquake proof structures, both civil and industrial)
• architecture (residential, commercial, office, industrial, health and education, culture,
leisure and sport)
• interior design (private houses, retail, commercial spaces)
• building services design (hydrothermal systems, mechanical, electrical, fire prevention)
• worksite supervision, accounting, technical-administrative testing, health and safety
supervision
• energy saving, energy performance certification, alternative and renewable energies
The Company is comprised of 14 members and a variable number of internal and external
partners, arranged in 5 working groups. The strong multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity and
the coordination among the members in all the work in progress phases of the commissions, allow
the CCDP to manage them all independently, without external support, permitting our clients to
have one exclusive partner. This allows CCDP also to become an efficient support for external firms
e public administrations in managing important commissions or major public works. The internal
tecnical and procedural control system is granted by the Quality and Environmental Management
System certifications in compliance with UNI EN ISO 9001 and Uni EN ISO 14001.
Historically deeply rooted in the territory, in the last few years CCDP has extended his activities to
collaborations with internationally reknown architects, for urban scale interventions (Masterplan
Ex Reggiane Plant Site (RE) with prof. Dennis Frenchman - M.I.T. Boston, arch. Andreas Kipar - Land
and arch. Aimaro Isola), architectural design (Creative Center Casalgrande Padana with Studio
Cerri & Associati) and competitions (New Lugano Soccer Stadium with Fojab Arkitekter, Steer
Davies Gleave and Iotti+Pavarani Architetti), experience culminated in 2011 designing in very close
contact with arch. Kengo Kuma the «Ceramic Cloud» monument, the documentation
center/ceramic museum of the Casalgrande Padana and the works of renovation with expansion
of the «Diana» Nursery School, by now well-known worldwide thanks to the «Reggio Children»
Foundation. In 2015 the collaboration with arch. Daniel Libeskind has led to the realization of the
«Ceramic Crown» monument. The company works has been documented through publication in
professional magazines and in many exhibition held in different italian institutions and has been
awarded in national and international competitions.

5. CCDP FOR SCHOOLS
CCDP’s attitude for school design consist not only thinking about structure and all process design, but deeper thinking
its pedagogic function, to educate through spaces suitable for children, and make they as active part of school design.
This according with Reggio Approach, who make child at the centre of active education with all his “one-hundred
languages”. CCDP is also strongly motivate with all concern sustainable architecture and low-energy building, according
with its own environmental certification.
World famous pedagogist Loris Malaguzzi is the father of the founder and former president of CCDP, Architect Antonio
Malaguzzi, died in 2014. Now CCDP architects and engineers carry on the focus on school architecture.
In 1994, Loris Malaguzzi and a commitment of a group of local citizens, founded Reggio Children – International Center
for the Defense and Promotion of the Rights and Potentials of All Children, a mixed public-private company with the aim
to manage the educational and cultural exchange initiatives that had been taking place for many years between the
municipal early childhood institutions of Reggio Emilia and a large number of educators and researchers from around the
world.
Reggio Children participates in research projects with companies operating in various areas (architectural design,
pedagogical-management proposals, teacher training for early childhood services for children from birth to 6 years old,
design of lines of furnishings and environments for children..).
The company aims and purposes are inspired by the contents and values of the educational experience of the Municipal
Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools of Reggio Emilia, and its mission is to carry out experimental research, to promote
and disseminate high quality education worldwide. International recognition of this experience and collaborative
initiatives with many countries have led to the creation of an important international network, currently comprising thirty-
two countries.
The system includes the newly established Reggio Children – Loris Malaguzzi Center International Foundation, which
focuses on research, study, and development aimed at high quality education for all, along with Reggio Children srl and the
Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools – Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia. Reggio Children’s headquarters are
located in the Loris Malaguzzi International Center. Inaugurated in 2006 and completed in 2011, the Center is supported
by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools, Reggio Children, and the Friends of Reggio
Children Association, which now all converge in the newly established Foundation.
"A school needs to be a place for all
children, not based on the idea that they're
all the same, but that they're all different.“
Loris Malaguzzi
