•Excellent organization and communication skills
•Able to work to deadlines
•Dependable and team oriented
•Proven problem solving skills
Professional Achievements
• Started up an engine component manufacturing cell and subsequently reduced capital
commitment for higher profitability
• Repositioned cast locators and reconfigured GD&T on a new brake component for more
efficient manufacturability
• Reconfigured GD&T on an existing engine component to allow for a more robust proces
• Quoted and presented potential process for automotive components resulting in contract
awards. This included presentations in front of large crowds
• Sourced suppliers of raw materials including cost negotiations to ensure a dependable
supply of raw material that met or exceeded quality requirements
• Created a “show case” for a lean manufacturing cell to use for demonstration purposes to
“sister” plants
• Implemented "lean" practices across 5 manufacturing cells (VSM, SMED, Kanban,
Kaisan, detailed work instruction, 5S)
• Designed and assembled a materials “stores” for equipment and raw material to sustain
tracking, inventory and accessibility requirements
• Generated an initial KAN BAN system for assembly components in order to streamline
and standardize inventory controls and minimize system maintenance.
• Installed a prototype assembly system to error proof the process and save rework costs.
The incorporation of the 2 components required to make up the system had not been tried
before. Our customer was impressed enough to pay for the system themselves.
• Tested and analyzed tools to improve profitability – minimum of 5% savings per year.
• Managed multi discipline project teams to develop processes and means to create on
time, on budget manufacturing cells for automotive components. Criteria were met in
each instance.
• Audited and selected suppliers for coating applications to ensure cost, capacity, and
quality targets could be met or exceeded in order to create a dependable supply.
• Managed suppliers and vendors in a "hands on" role
• Implemented initial lean manufacturing processes resulting in $120,000 instant recovery.
Audited and selected suppliers and vendors to ensure cost, capacity, and quality targets
could be met or exceeded
• Implemented line bore process on cnc machinery to eliminate need for an SPM – a
$400,000 saving.
• Introduced dedicated tool kits for machining stations to better track usage - %15
immediate savings
• Laid out and commissioned automotive component manufacturing cells on time, on
budget
• Instituted continuous improvement practices for cost reductions in manpower and
material.
2. • Designed and installed material handling equipment to reduce manpower requirements on
new and existing production lines
• Installed “clean room” facilities to facilitate CMM and Millipore testing that were
customer requirements.
• Generated turnkey presentation for engine support RFQ - $850,000 contract award
• Achieved successful design process and run off of turnkey manufacturing systems for
engine bracket and steering knuckle. Successful run off met budget and time
requirements.
• Maintained “show case” QS9000 files in order to maintain certification during audits.
• Designed lifting fixtures for larger automotive components to minimize operator fatigue
and improve ergonomics
• The successful implementation of OEM CNC turnkey manufacturing cells.
• The successful launch and continuous improvement of new product lines while
maintaining and addressing existing lines and all aspects of living documentation
