Nissan 370Z (known as the Fairlady Z Z34 in Japan) is a sports car manufactured by Nissan
Motors. It was announced on October 29, 2008 and was first shown at an event in Los Angeles
ahead of the 2008Greater LA Auto Show, before being officially unveiled at the show itself. The
370Z is the sixth-generation of the Nissan Z-car line, succeeding the 350Z.
Lotus Cars
Lotus Cars is a British manufacturer of sports and racing cars, famous for its Esprit, Elan,
Europa and Elise sports cars and for the highly successful Team Lotus in Formula 1. Lotus Cars
is based at the former site of RAF Hethel, a World War II airfield in Norfolk. The company
designs and builds race and production automobiles of light weight and
fine handling characteristics. It also owns the engineering consultancy Lotus Engineering, which
has facilities in the United Kingdom, United States, Malaysia and China.
Lotus is owned by DRB-HICOM through its subsidiary Proton, which acquired it following the
bankruptcy of former owner Romano Artioli in 1996.
Mazda Cars
The MX-5, released as the MX-5 Miata /miˈɑːtə/ in North America and as the Roadster in Japan,
is a lightweight two-seater roadster with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Manufactured
by Mazda in Hiroshima, Japan, the model debuted in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. The MX-5
was conceived as a small roadster – with light weight and minimal mechanical complexity limited
only by legal and safety requirements; technologically modern and reliable. The MX-5 is
conceptually an evolution of the small British and Italian sports roadsters of the 1960s such as
the Triumph Spitfire, MG MGB, Datsun 2000, Fiat 124 Sport Spider, Alfa Romeo Spider, and
particularly the Lotus Elan.
The second generation MX-5 (NB) was launched in 1998 and the current (NC) model has been
in production since 2005. It continues to be the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in
history and by February 2011 over 900,000 MX-5s had been built and sold around the world.
Since the launch of the third generation, Mazda consolidated worldwide marketing using the MX-
5 name with the exception of the United States where it is marketed as the MX-5 Miata. The
name Miata derives from Old High German for reward.
Toyota Cars
The Toyota Supra was a sports car/grand tourer produced by Toyota Motor Corporation from
1978 to 2002. The styling of the Toyota Supra was derived from the Toyota Celica, but it was
both longer and wider. Starting in mid-1986, the Supra (in its third generation, Mark III) became a
separate model from the Celica. In turn, Toyota also stopped using the prefix Celica and began
just calling the car Supra. Owing to the similarity and past of the Celica's name, it is frequently
mistaken for the Supra, and vice versa. First, second, and third generation Supras were
assembled at Tahara plant in Tahara, Aichi while the MKIV Supra was assembled at the
Motomachi plant in Toyota City.
The Supra also traces much of its roots back to the Toyota 2000GT with the main instance being
its engine. The first three generations were offered with a direct descendant to the Toyota
Crown's and 2000GT's M engine. All four generations of Supra produced have an inline 6-
cylinder engine. Interior aspects were also similar, as was the chassis code "A".
Along with this name and car Toyota also included its own logo for the Supra. It is derived from
the original Celica logo, being blue instead of orange. This logo was used until January 1986,
when the Mark III Supra was introduced. The new logo was similar in size, with orange writing on
a red background, but without the dragon design. That logo, in turn, was on Supras until 1991
when Toyota switched to its current oval company logo. (the dragon logo was a Celica logo
regardless of what color it was. It appeared on the first two generations of the Supra because
they were officially Toyota Celicas. The dragon logo was used for the Celica line until it too was
discontinued.)
In 1998, Toyota ceased sales of the Supra in the United States and in 2002 Toyota officially
stopped production of the Supra in Japan.
As an iconic sports car the Supra has appeared in numerous video games, movies, music videos
and TV shows. Some of the most notable appearances include the Gran Turismo, Forza
Motorsport, Need for Speed, and Midnight Club series of video games and The Fast and the
Furious film series this the new Supra, also known as the Toyota FT-1
Nissan motors (Shiro Nakamura)
Nissan chief creative officer, Shirō Nakamura, has likened the new GT -R to the giant robots of
the Gundam series. Nakamura stated: "The GT-R is unique because it is not simply a copy of a
European-designed supercar; it had to really reflect Japanese culture."
Nissan's American designers sculpted the rear three quarters of the vehicle, while their European
designers sculpted the roofline.
Polyphony Digital, creators of the Gran Turismo series of motor racing video games, were
themselves involved in the development of the GT-R, having been contracted to design the GT-R's
multifunction display.
Lexus
The Lexus LFA is a two-seat supercar from Lexus. It is the second model in the F marque line of
performance vehicles from Lexus, following the IS F. Three concept versions have been shown,
each debuting at the North American International Auto Show with the LF-A designation as part
of the LF Series concept line. After beginning development in the early 2000s (codenamed
P280), the first LF-A concept premiered in 2005, followed in 2007 by a second LF-A with a more
completely furnished interior and exterior. The third version of the LF-A, a roadster model,
premiered in 2008. The production model, trademarked LFA, was shown at the Tokyo Motor
Show in October 2009.
The production Lexus LFA features a new V10 engine and a carbon fiber-reinforced
polymer (CFRP) body. CFRP materials account for 65 percent of the LFA's body composition by
mass.[3] The LFA went into production in late 2010, with a base price of US$375,000. A circuit-tuned
variant debuted in 2012 with a base price of US$445,000, making it one of the most
expensive Japanese road cars ever built. Production ended in December 2012 with 500 vehicles
completed, the final version being a Nürburgring Package model.
