an action that will occur or happen in the
future.”
Main Verb: 1st form of verb
Auxiliary Verb: “Will”
3. Affirmative Sentences
Def:
Affirmative form is used to express the validity
or truth of a basic assertion.
Rule: Subject+Will+1st form of verb + Object.
Examples:
He will come here tomorrow.
They will send us a mail.
I will meet him today.
4. Negative Sentences
Def:
A negative sentence states that something is not true or
incorrect. A negative adverb has to be added in order to
negate or “cancel” the validity of the sentence.
Rule: Subject + Will + NOT + 1st form of Verb +
Object.
Examples:
He will not buy a car.
He will not do this again.
I shall not go with you.
5. Interrogative Sentences
Def:
Interrogative sentence is a type of sentence that asks a
question. (?)
Rule: Will+Subject+1st form of Verb + Object+?
Examples:
Will she marry him?
Will you help me?
Will he call him tomorrow?
7. Active/Passive (Affirmative Sentences)
Active: Subject + will/shall + first form of the verb + object.
Note: “The sentence (She will come tomorrow) doesn't have
an object. Therefore we cannot convert it into the passive.”
Passive: Object+ will/shall + be + 3rd form of verb + by +
subject.
8. Examples(Affirmative)
1. Active: I will write a letter.
Passive: A letter will be written by me.
2. Active: John will learn the lesson.
Passive: The lesson will be learnt by John.
9. Negative Sentence
Active: Subject + will/shall +NOT+ first form of
the verb + object.
Passive: Object+ will/shall +NOT+ be + 3rd form of
verb + by + subject.
10. Examples(Negative)
1. Active: She will not help us.
Passive: We will not be helped by her.
2. Active: We shall not betray our country.
Passive: Our country shall not be betrayed by
us.
12. Examples(Interrogative)
1. Active: Will you help him?
Passive: Will he be helped by you?
2. Active: Will they accept our invitation?
Passive: Will our invitation be accepted by
them?
