1. Dana Barton, has 36 years of domestic and international executive leadership in
Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, Project Management, and
Strategic Sourcing with several Fortune 200 companies where he held Sr. Vice
President, Vice President, and Director titles. He has a keen understanding and
proven experience in heavy metal manufacturing, pharmaceutical, newspapers,
aerospace and defense, business process outsourcing, service industries,
consulting, and production homebuilding. He also has hands-on operating
experience in direct and indirect procurement, customer service, outsourcing,
strategic sourcing, lean process improvement, production control, consortia,
supplier development / management, logistics, TCO, JIT company mergers /
acquisitions, warehousing, and distribution. This broad diverse industry and
discipline experience allows Mr. Barton to apply multiple industries best practices,
systems, processes, policies, standards, and knowledge transfer in solving and
implementing complex opportunities with little or no risk.
As a Supply Chain Leader, he is known for his ability to develop and implement
successful and creative cost reduction and process improvement solutions in rapid
time-frames. In leadership positions his teams have recorded and implemented
over $2.8 billion in bottom-line audited cost reductions and process improvements
while improving material quality, customer service, and supplier management. His
teams have received awards from the US Government for their creative first-of-a-
kind cost reduction programs.
Utilizing a collaborative communications style, Mr. Barton is a leader who enjoys
coaching, training, and mentoring status-quo organizations into motivated,
empowered, creative, strategic, highly adaptable, ethical, honest, and innovative
world-class teams passionate about what they do who can drive vision from
conception to completion quickly. He believes collaboration, communications,
performance metrics, and stakeholder involvement are critical success factors to
all major and sustained change.
Mr. Barton has been responsible for 300 employee department teams, over $7B in
spend, and the management / development of thousands of suppliers in all
categories of spend. He held a Top Secret clearance when working for DoD
employers providing aerospace and defense products to the US Government.
Mr. Barton holds a BS in Business Administration and Economics from Purdue
University and has completed several MBA courses at Butler University, Marquette
University, and The University of West Virginia to enhance his accounting, finance,
Marketing, and Statistics skills.
